I bought a commemorative ticket holder for my Indy ticket (wooden base with a plexiglass stand for the ticket with a golden commemorative coin built into it. And the other day I bought this: Going to build a 1930 Monaco GP winner.

I'll have to see the kit and evaluate it.
I originally wanted to do the 1929 Monaco GP winner (first Monaco GP) but that 35B was green and I really wanted to do it in it's traditional French Blue, so I'm going with the 30 winner.

I have one as well, but I am going to do William Grover-Williams 29 winner.
Bright green and that cool name...

During the month of May, I picked up a Montoya winner diecast, as well as the new Dixon and Kanaan 1:18s. Then decided to order one of these beauties from the IMS website: Now I'm waiting on the people over at Legends to get it together and actually ship the darn thing...

I received one from Toronto Motorsports last week, so you might consider canceling your order with IMS and ordering from Canada. I know they have more in stock from a phone conversation, and I'm not as confident that IMS has any to ship.

I've mentioned it before, but his post-racing history is fascinating and tragic. Recruited by the French resistance to be a spy captured by the Nazis in 1943 and executed just a month before the end of the war.

The AMT 1937 Chevy early modified is actually quite intriguing, I had planned using a chassis for a 1964 Cheetah or a early Scarab or Chaparral I. Any thoughts on doing this? I know I have to replace the solid axles with IRS for the Cheetah or the Scarab but the AMT tube chassis is not bad. On a side note, I am in the process of making a 1/24 Ferrari 330 P and a 330 P2 using the Burrago Ferrari 250 LM chassis. I ground out the Burrago lettering and opened up the flat areas and it ACTUALLY is pretty Damn close to the 275P chassis. I would like to use a copy of the Heller Ferrari 330 P4 engine (with center line Webers) engine for the P2. Can I use this engine (shrinked) for the 1966-1968 Ferrari F1 cars? My kind of projects! IMHO mind you...For your front engined Scrab-Chaparral I project I might suggest using a Ferrari GTO chassis, but the Cheetah I might use a 60s Corvette chassis cut up appropriately. The Ferrari projects are close to my heart as I, too, have done the cut down Bburago 275LM. My interest is making a 330P. The 330P 's enginge should be like a 250 GTO's engine with twin cams with AMT Indy Lotus Weber carbs. The 330P2 project is great, but the Tamiya body is more 1/25. The best bodies are Strombecker, Atlas, and perhaps the K&B all 1/24 slot bodies. I've made a Daytona 1000 Km 330P2 of Surtees/Rodriguez by using a Strombecker body. I haven't found a proper windscreen yet... Back in the early 80s I made a test 330P2 of Surtees using a K&B body... In both cases I used a Heller 330P4 chassis. As to the use of a V12 for the F1 cars I would suggest a Testors Daytona 365 engine. I'm using one for my 312/66 F1 project. IMHO, of course. Patrick

I have to say, I don't think it needs anything new. It's a NICE kit! I'm pretty shocked at how nice it is.

I think my next purchase will be a Hasegawa Porsche 962, so I can get Calvin’s conversion parts and Michael’s decals to do the Lowenbrau 962C.

I have the Beemax kit - it's nice. But I think their Vaillant Green is too dark.

Bought a few hat pins so now my Mears collection pretty close to comprehensive. I will pick up a few more Borg Warner trophy pins at Indy but do not know of any more than I am missing. Will keep an eye out for super rares I never knew of or forgot. Need to mount them all in my new larger display case, still trying to figure out the flow there.
Bought a book of Randy Owens racing art plus a plaque sold by the Mears Gang trailer back around 1992 signed by Rick and his parents (Bill & Skip). Then I found a seller selling something of a rare sort about Rick Mears and when I checked their other auctions there were press kits, hero cards, programs, etc from Penske, CART, and IndyCar. Together I bought 12 auctions to ship at once to save on S&H. Spend $13 on two of those auctions and $0.99 each on the rest. Paid more for shipping than I did for the items but still a pretty good deal IMHO.

I bought the John Paul Jr. book..I know that he spent time in jail for pot smuggling, but he could drive...the book is sorta thrown together with lots of pictures and much of it he talks about his dad...reminded me that my father was a great guy; fair and honest; and who always explained to me why I was being disciplined...I was very lucky in choosing my parents; not so much with J P ... I also discovered that he placed second at LeMans in 1984 in a Preston Hennn Porsche 956...does anybody have a. 956 to sell? They are very pricey on EBay...I would like to build this car to acknowledge his racing career...since Hawaiian Tropic is an associate sponsor, maybe one of the “girls “ would show up... Tim

Blimey. John Paul Jr. Weird. I was going through some old portfolios sleeves today and found a color copy of a painting I did years ago for a mate in Canada putting out 1/24 Riley and Scott jobbys.
Last corner, last lap, Mosport 96 I think. Sticks it inside the 333sp and wins after being passed on the back strait. Fell off the sofa when I saw it on a DVD sent to me not long after the race. Book any good?
Oh Yeah. Answer the question. Two of Lance's PC18s, a 1/43 March 86C and 1/20 Tamiya Williams FW07 and Aoshima McLaren MP4/2 I found gathering dust in Belgium.
