I didn't even know that Armor People build in 1/24th. I thought 1/35th was some sort of standard. That and I've seen some huge scale armor at model shows.

The stuff that MFH uses is really nice, but it is terrible expensive to make as I believe it is real rubber and they cast the tires just like the real things. I can deal with resin though. The FV432 has metal tracks which will be interesting to do as they all have to be drilled and then wire pins ran through. I guess you could actually make it work, but that is beyond my skills at this point. As for the scale, KFS has done a lot of truck kits and transkits. They liked that scale so much they made some military items in that scale. Besides some RC tanks I haven't seen any 1/24th scale military kits before. 1/35th is just a bit too small for me.

I got another damn boat today..... Miss Thriftway TOO....not 2....or Two....or II........ BUT TOO! I need to do some more research on this so I can further my geekiness, but I can tell you right now it was cool looking BIG A$$ hydroplane with little success. As far as I know it was the first 'Cab Over" Hydro...... I'm going to build the 1957 version that has the Mahogany Hull...but my problem is how in the world em I going to add the wood grain in 1/48 scale? There are some nice 1/48 scale wood decals from www.uschivdr.com. It seems to be designed for WWI aircraft.

Just bought a subscription to Scale Auto Magazine for my IPad. They finally got smart and created a Apple approved App. I have just about every issue of Scale Auto Enthusiast and it's nice that I can finally stop creating more space to store my issues. That leaves only Forza and Cavalino as the only two mags that I don't get electronically.

Got a text from a friend about it. Electronic addition is the same price as the printed version. Seems fair that the electronic could be just a tad cheaper. Paul Erlendson

I just bought a Classic Models Museum 1/12th scale 1966 Ferrari 312 F1 kit. I have not received it yet as it takes about 45 days to get it. Hopefully anytime now.
Most people know me as only doing Indycar diecast conversions but I really enjoy building the larger scale kits. This particular kit is made entirely of resin and fairly basic but I am anxious to super detail it.
After recently watching the movie Grand Prix, I plan to build it into a car driven by Jean Pierre Sarti in the movie.

I nicknamed my son J-P after World Driving Champion Jean-Pierre Sarti (Madam Sarti was a witch)! I have the 1/24 slot body conversion on my desk waiting for some warm weather to re-paint it. Patrick

Got my Miller 91 from ARM today, ordered it Tuesday night(talk about service). A year ago, I thought that it would not be possible to improve a Chris Etzel kit. I was wrong, what Tom, and Ed are doing is fantastic. If you want to give yourself a real treat, buy one of their kits. They are as good at making kits as they are at building them.

I just ordered this from Oval Track Legends. They offer the 1916 or 1919 version of the winning Peugeot. I can't keep it stock so it will be the 1914 GP car with minor mods. This is my first attempt at building in a year. Hosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

Gary's work keeps getting better, and better. Next up will be something for us roadster fans.

at the richmond show this past weekend there was a woman with a variety of car and military books for sale. i was pleasantly surprised that she was selling them so cheaply. i ended up with eleven books for $90.00. later that evening back at the hotel i checked amazon to get an idea of value and they totaled over $600.00. duane

I'm going to bump this as I wished this would always be added to because I think a lot of us are nosy? or maybe its just me? Heck I like to see what everyone is getting! F1M always keeps their "what models have you got lately" going....which IMO is always interesting to look at....
