Congrats on the score. I have been checking these toolboxes out as they have been on my radar for years and years. I have a co-worker electrician who bought one new back in the day and uses it every day. The built in right hand drawer stack in unique as I have never seen another manufacturer incorporate these small drawers into design.
I have two 42" Waterloo roll arounds at work. One has a 36" SnapOn chest on top mounted on the top. (both roller cabinets have wooden tops I installed using tops from old Vidmar work benches) I also use two Kennedy model 520 boxes with risers for my machinist tools.
I have an 11 drawer Gerstner and another Kennedy #520 in my garage here at home, along with a pair of Craftsman roll arounds!
Did you guys know that I was a mechanic? ;-) I have, uh, a bunch of tools and am also very interested in them and their storage.
Great Score!

Yesterday was a HUGE day for Me.
After many weeks of negotiations, I was finally able to purchase the entire estate of the late Ray Altenschulte. Ray was a writer for a small paper out of Richmond Indiana and a very passionate race fan. He was also on the staff of IMS photographers for years and years, shooting primarily at the head of the pit, gasoline alley and Turn 2.
I had never done anything like this in my life. After checking this collection out and thinking it over, I realized I would never get another chance to buy this many items at one time for one (fair) price.
Dudes, I hit a big time honey hole. There were 17 crates which required two pickup trucks to haul it all home.
It all started with a haircut and the mention of "having some model kits" to a friend who immediately and very thoughtfully mentioned to this person that I might be interested. When I finally arranged to see these "kits" I was blown away! After picking it over for about three hours I figured I was better off just making them an offer for the entire lot. I did some calculations and shot them what I thought was a fair price. They conferred for a half hour or so and agreed.
I feel extremely blessed for this opportunity. To think I spent the early part of my morning at IMS digging around their year end clearance sale, talking with Bill Vukovich and my old friend John Oreovictz and then actually purchasing this collection, it was a heck of a day.
Go Bears!

Latest Shapeways order is "In Production". Hopefully they will get here next week. Guess they are trying to group them (three different materials) to ship together. Bought the same parts in FUD and FXD to compare/contrast. Jordan

I think he got a new driveway. He has a car in the picture to give it scale.

I'm disappointed with you, Calvin. It's RED, google is your friend. Hint, it's not a Ferrari.

Driveway is about 20 years old, Paul. Concrete, and Michigan winters, are not a great partnership.

I wonder if it's one of those new Alfa-Romeo's?
We have an Alfa-Romeo dealership in Spokane....which kinda seems odd to me?

I ordered the Ebbro mid-season McLaren MP4/30 from Hobbylinc Japan. www.1999.co.jp/eng/10347735For some reason this car grew on me as the F1 season progressed. Seemed to have cleaner lines than a lot of the F1 cars (Or Indy cars. The best looking open wheel cars right now are Formula E IMO) this season. Maybe it’s the metallic black paint and very little sponsorship graphics to mess with it. I had been hoping for some templated CF decals and a few extra detail bits and Acustion is fulfilling my needs. www.acustion.com/index.html2e.htmlPaul Erlendson

A couple weeks ago I got a 1/8 Scale 1977 Atlas Van Lines "Blue Blaster" from Goodwill. LOL for $40 Its huge! Its missing some parts. I'm just going to build it into a static model. I don't have any knowledge in RC. I hope to be seeing this great boat again on June 10th running on the Columbia river. Feel free to check out my forum, that I haven't told hardly anyone about yet.... hydroplane-racing.freeforums.net/

Yesterday the mail lady delivered Kevin's '69 Eagle F-5000 semi-kit. Maybe I can stop scrounging through spare parts or improvising from bits and pieces.
Patrick, I think Sam Posey's Eagle might be a nice addition to your collection.

A little while back I acquired a UPC Indianapolis 1/24 scale kit #4110 assembled and painted body with some other miscellaneous junkyard items. Can anyone identify the year and make of this Offy roadster? I also acquired the AMT 1937 Chevy early modified kit enough to make to rolling chassis. This weekend I assembled the two chassis with the idea of making a late 1950's roadster and also the 1966 or 1967 (I believe) roadster with the DOHC 255 Ford hanging off the left side of the chassis. I would like to something odd and unusual for roadsters. The AMT 1937 Chevy early modified is actually quite intriguing, I had planned using a chassis for a 1964 Cheetah or a early Scarab or Chaparral I. Any thoughts on doing this? I know I have to replace the solid axles with IRS for the Cheetah or the Scarab but the AMT tube chassis is not bad. On a side note, I am in the process of making a 1/24 Ferrari 330 P and a 330 P2 using the Burrago Ferrari 250 LM chassis. I ground out the Burrago lettering and opened up the flat areas and it ACTUALLY is pretty Damn close to the 275P chassis. I would like to use a copy of the Heller Ferrari 330 P4 engine (with center line Webers) engine for the P2. Can I use this engine (shrinked) for the 1966-1968 Ferrari F1 cars?

Yes, the Burago stuff may be quite useful if you pick the proper bits. It seems you know how to do it. The V12? Probably. Though the Heller/Union camcovers are not quite well detailed... Nevertheless that's an interesting post that will draw more attention and answers from the credited Ferrarists of this forum on the Questions sections, I'd say.

Wondering what body and wheels you're using for the P2? That is my all time fav from that era and I'd build the 1965 Targa or Nurburgring 1000 km winner. Thanks for any info. Dan Parke

At the Indy Memorbilia show I bought the '52, '56, '58 and '60 Clymer Yearbooks for my collection. Does anyone have a copy the 1950 softcover issue they'd like to sell? Also at the show I bought Kevin's F5000 conversion kit and autographed photos of Gurney, Parnelli, Mario, AJ and Rick Mears ("Thanks"). It was a good day!

I found an AMT Watson bagged kit and it should arrive today, which I plan to use to make my Konstant Hot Spl. I should also get a Revell Cobra SC kit which I wanted for a few parts.
This morning I ordered some HRM parts for a Corvette GS race car and some AlcladII metalizers.
I think I need some Firestones from 63 and I know I need some Konstant Hot decals, so that'll all be next.

Sandy, I already had the GS exhausts and I did order the A arms, thought I had ordered them before but couldn't sind them in my clutter, so reordered a set. I did not order the Nassau hood, good bargain but using VRM decals for the 00 car which had the nifty louvered hood. I just hope I can assemble it neatly You're correct about HRM, they make some super fine products. I have one of their Cobra Daytona Coupe kits and all I can say is WOW, well worth the price.

At Indy, I got a wooden plaque commemorating all of Mears' four wins (minus Smoking Cowboy logos) from the Team Penske trailer. At the Memorabilia show I was having to be frugal with the $$$ so I only got four Mears photos, an Indy magazine covering the 1986 500 (only $1), and Mears PC-17 pin. I did not pick up any kits or modeling stuff though Eric tried to tempt me with bagged Reynard kits.... From IMS I got a 1/18 Greenlight Brickyard display case, IMS t-shirt/hat combo, several photos from the photo shop, and a race program. Plus, I kept the Sunday and Monday newspapers from that weekend.
