I haven't bought anything for a while, but I did start an old Johnny Lightning Colt. The resin is pitted and will be a challenge.
I'm still looking but my budget and storage space is limited.

The resin is pitted and will be a challenge. Just clean it up very good and use spot filler and prime with lacquer and repeat tel' the holes are gone, its typical resin clean up.

Most recently I have bought the Marmom Wasp, Tom Sneva Pole winner 1984, Gorden Johncock 1984, Grahm Hills Lotus turbine from TSM. Tony Kanaan's Indy winner and the Auto Course Indy 500 yearbook by Donald Davidson. Now just trying to catchup on my bank roll after all of that. Good thing is they are all paid for.

I finally was able to buy a fairly rare Mauri Ferrari 308 GTB Micheletti racer. I had one once, but the EX destroyed it. Its good to have it once again. I also bought some glue bomb Heller F2 cars with 2 IMC Lotus 38s. A good score thanks to my brother.

I just assembled a full scale model of a 7.5' Wesley Pine Christmas tree with muti-color lights. The wiring is interal to the trunk of the tree and plugs together as you insert the three sections together. Kit is made in China an is available at Home Depot. Instructions consist of two sheets of written directions and illustrations. Total assembly time for me was about 15 minutes and now about 5 hours of my wife's time to spread the branches to her liking. Paul Erlendson

I just scored on a ultra rare Heller 1/24 Renault RE30 F1 kit. Simple, but all there and accurate, too. I have a glue bomb with an Indycals decal set for the car. So, this one is surplus. I'll probably list it on EvilBay.

I haven't started anything new lately, but I've been buying a butt load of braided line and AN fittings for my 1/12 Lotus 78 build. Man, that stuff can get expensive quick and I still haven't bought the intake screens yet!

Decided to pick up some cheap 1/43 Heller F1s off eBay so I could do the Lotus for our Senna forum build here. It was a three pack auction so I had to get a Williams and Benetton with the Lotus.

Good Deal, Calvin, I know you wanted that kit. I sure hope it will take a lot more than that to make your life complete. You are just starting out. One small word of wisdom "Don't fall in love with anything that can't love you back"

A bunch of 1/25 DW12 decals from Michael arrived last week Finally found a can of Rustoleum Lagoon Satin at the local Wal-Mart on my lunch break today so I picked it up to compare. Saving my $$ for an airbrush and resin DW12s but trying to "control the spend" otherwise. Jordan

I’ve always been a car guy, but growing up I was also into planes and ships. Being an IPMS member gives me the opportunity to see and hear about a great variety of models. One group of modelers that has always fascinated me are the armor guys. I’ve always been a little envious of them because in general the armor crowd gets some of the best attention from the kit manufactures and consequently, some of the best kits. So, for years I’ve wanted to build a tank, but just haven’t found the right kit that would sort of “turn my crank”. A few weeks ago at Hobbytown I picked up an old Monogram kit of a M48 Patton tank. From the box art I could see that I really liked the look of it and started to research what kits were out there and see what my armor buddies thought. Here is the kit that I’m leaning toward, and the funny thing is that when I checked out the instructions I found that there were markings for a Marine unit that was stationed right across the runway from me at Danang in 1968-1969 when I was there. www.1999.co.jp/eng/10264145Paul Erlendson
