Geez, I'd forgotten about the two red colors on the version I'll be doing. At the risk of opening Pandora's box, what two colors should I use? John Red and different red. .... I'll show myself out.

For John: Even though Michael was kind of kidding, I think he's right in a way. I painted mine just plain red right out of the little Testors bottle. I considered using Guards red, but thought it might be just a shade darker than I wanted, but maybe side by side, those two or something similarmight work for this.

I know Michael was kidding, but he's right. I also know you have to have thick skin to play with this crowd. Thanks for the photo Art, it will help. I think I may have a can of different red that will work.

To be serious, if I was building it I'd go with Tamiya TS49 for the lighter red and TS8 for the darker red... or as I call them, red and different red Don't know if they are exact matches, but they have the right balance of color difference IMO.

Thanks Michael. I literally laughed out loud this morning when I saw your post, I took it in the spirit intended. The humor here is another reason I love this forum, there's no place else like it.

This is by far my favorite forum....I think it's just because most of us know each other pretty well.....I'm a part of other forums but I really for the most part could almost care less about even talking on those.....

How are those Pro Tech belts to put together? I've used the Detail Master belts and they look great but doing the hardware is to much for me. The new details look really nice.

Art,
Skilled hands and vision make this build so special to me, simply awesome! I know it takes time and effort to share this type of build, Thank you for taking the time to show newbies like me the way.
I echo the comments on this forum, constructive ideas, no back biting, just good people!

Thanks a lot guys, for all your great comments! How are those Pro Tech belts to put together? I've used the Detail Master belts and they look great but doing the hardware is to much for me. The new details look really nice. John John, They are actually pretty easy, because you don't have to thread anything through the buckles or the adjusters. The "belt" on those pieces is just painted. I just used Tamiya tape that I brushed on some Testors Acryl blue paint on for the belts, added the decals, and then also painted the buckles the same blue. Any misses with the brush were easily scraped off with an Xacto blade, then I sprayed flat clear over the whole assembly before I put them in the cockpit. BTW, I am a show dealer for Pro-Tech products, so if anybody ever needs anything, send me a PM and I can get it for you!

Man, I may never build my Lola now. I can't build any Corvette because of this guy! LOL! I'm still amazed at the aeroseal clamps on the hose lines of that Vette!

Patrick If we all quit, because we aren't as good as Art, this place would not exist. You have nothing to be ashamed of, Patrick, your builds are fantastic.

Art you're a great builder and you're humble about it! Years ago, someone told me "Golf is a lot like sex, you don't have to be an expert to enjoy it". I think model building is the same thing. Never be afraid to show your work.
