The Vanwall is out and it is a full engine detail kit. FPM does very nice work. This looks as good as his Porsche 804. The Ferrari 375 should be a first in large scale along with the Ferrari 625 1955 Monaco winner(I was almost as suprised by this one as Mercedes and Lancia were when the Ferrari won the race!!). I suspect they will both be full detail also!! Check on ebay as he sells direct. Long live 1/24th scale

Do you have any links for people to see what the kit looks like?

Looks to be a beautiful kit and I would consider the price to be reasonable for what you get.

You can add the 1931 Alfa Romeo 2300 Lemans winner and the Talbot Lago T26GS 1950 Lemans winner in 1/24th scale to the list of models FPM are doing!!! The Alfa will have full engine detail. I do believe this is the first good Alfa 2.3 in 1/24th scale(Same car as all the Alfa Pocher 1/8th scale kits). He might also do a Alfa P3 in 1/24th.
Amazing kits from a master, Fernando Pinto................

Not F1 but Alfa Monza 2.3 based, Fernando Pinto will also be doing the long nose aero 1932 Alfa 2.3 Sommer/Chinetti and 1933 Alfa 2.3 Nuvolari/Sommer Lemans winners!! Both will be in 1/24th scale with full engine detail and hand laced wire wheels.
If you have not invested in one of these FPPM kits yet you don't know what you are missing!!
The Ferrari 375 F1 1951 1/24th model will be the Silversone 1951 winner, Ferrari's first F1 win. Not the Monza car....

Tom, Isn't the 375 like the cars that were run at Indy. I was able to see a 375 at full song when I went to the first LBGP/West. Oh, such a long time ago!

Yes it is. It would be neat to do the ivory car with bare metal nose band.

FPPM update: Fernando from FPPM has told me the Alfa Romeo 2300 8C Lemans 1933 Nuvolari/Sommers 1/24th kit is ready and will start shipping next week. Next up is the Talbot Lago Lemans 1950 followed by the Ferrari 375 F1 Silverstone all in 1/24th scale. That will be followed by the 1962 Lemans Ferrari and the 1955 Ferrari 625 Monaco winner all in 1/24th scale..... Here are photos of the wonderful Alfa 2300 8C Lemans 1932 car kit: www.ferrarichat.com/forum/collectables-literature-models/180496-new-model-kit-thread-92.html

Kindly allow me to air a complaint.
I bought three of the FFP Resin kits, the BRM, the Cooper and the Porsche. I expressed my full satisfaction to Fernando and told him that I very much looked forward to his advertised Vanwall.
When the Vanwall finally appeared on e-bay it was put up for auction and I wrote and said to Fernando, why don't you simply put your kits at a "buy now" price? I explained that I did not enjoy trying to out bid other modellers when I knew that it was his intent to keep the models available. He replied that I should understand his "policy".
Barely a month later, he decided to raise the price of the Vanwall kit above the price for which three previous issues had sold, ie: from $135.00 to $137.50 while simultaneously creating a "buy now" option. Good news, right?
Except I then complained about the price hike and now, with no explanation, I am not allowed to bid on any of his kits!
I am literally blocked by him from bidding for his kits on e-bay!
Every time I try to bid, e-bay tells me that the seller has blocked me.
By the way, he now sells all his kits on e-bay with the "buy now" option. BUT NOT TO ME.
I haven't gone to e-bay with this complaint, but I have had the need to vent this for a while now.
I can understand that the creative mind can have its own peculiarities. I have, in fact, attempted to communicate with Fernando, several times via e-bay, about this situation. I have received no response.
So.
Caveat Emptor.

Sorry to hear about that. I have never had any issues with him. The only thing I have herard is one Mercedes 300SL chassis base had air bubbles and needed to be replaced. He is old school, and after building several of his kits I sometimes think photoetch is way over rated. Fernando has also announced he will do the blue Chinetti Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 1934 Lemans winner. He will now do all 4 Alfa Lemans winners. They are amazing kits. The wire wheels are a new style just for these 4 kits. For the prices he is charging compared to other manufactures we have no reason to complain. Hand laced wire wheels are superior to photoetch in every way. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo 2015-Chicago late March 2015..........LAST YEAR FOR THE MODEL CONTEST in 2015. We had a huge turn out for Indy and F1 cars this year. Thank you to all who brought their models. Ferrari Expo Chicago is on it's 37th year. www.ferrarichat.com/forum/collectables-literature-models/427868-ferrari-literature-art-expo-usa-1-43rd-scale-model-expo-march-2014-a.html

I am glad to hear about the quality of Pinto's kits. I am waiting for the mail to come with the Vanwall and Sharknose that I ordered. I bought some of his wire wheels to see if I could use them on some of Gary Ducette's early Indy cars. The wheels are like pieces of art. Absolutely georgeous.

I think you will love the Vanwall. Keep in mind the Vanwall is a brand new kit, the Ferrari was done 10 years ago by Fernando and it is also nice. You can see how he has progressed. I can't wait to see his next F1 car, the Ferrari 375 F1 Silverstone.

Sorry to hear about that. I have never had any issues with him. I have never had an issue like this with any other model maker. For some strange reason, not explained, he has decided to make this personal. You may admire his work, as do I, but if he discovered that you had offered to let me purchase one of his kits from you I would not be surprised to learn that you were added his blacklist. pbh

I think you will love the Vanwall. Don't I wish. I would "Buy It Now" if I could, but I have been blocked. For no reason that the seller will explain. No apologies accepted. No response to my e-mails, etc. This, despite the fact that I bought three kits from him, paid for them up front, trusted him to be honest and complimented them when I received them. Later, he took my well intended advice on the "Buy It Now" option. Gary Doucette is one of the friendliest persons. His kits are excellent. Lance Sellars is very understanding and available, not to mention his kits are the current standard. Harold Bradford is wonderful to speak to and his kits are marvels. Bill Jorgenson is always open minded and accomodating and he created dozens of kits that I think will never be bettered. I could name others. Fernando, on the other hand, got insulted somehow. And now I am dirt. Go figure. pbh

Keep in mind the Vanwall is a brand new kit Just to make this absolutely clear, I bought three kits from Fernando, I complemented each one and told him several times that I was looking forward to the announced Vanwall kit. The original auction price for the Vanwall was $131.50 and the first three sold for about $135.50 each. I was out bid on each of these because I refused to indulge in a bidding war when I knew perfectly well that there would be other kits available in time. After I suggested the "Buy It Now" option, the kit was repriced at $139.00. I complained about this. Understand that we are now talking about $3.50. Later, I decided to try to buy the kit at $139.00 only to discover that I was blocked by the seller. Since then I have received multiple e-mails from e-bay suggesting that I bid on yet another Vanwall. Only to be blocked by the seller. This person refuses to sell a kit to me because I found fault with his price policy. And we are talking about $3.50. You might be one of his biggest fans. You might think his kits are gifts from God. In my opinion, he owes me an explanation. pbh

After I suggested the "Buy It Now" option, the kit was repriced at $139.00. I complained about this. Understand that we are now talking about $3.50. I'm gonna play devil's advocate here - don't take this personally, I'm offering my thoughts based solely on my eBay seller experience (which is extensive, but not so much in recent years): He priced it at $131.50 hoping there will be some cross bidding to get the price up. This is a perfectly valid selling technique. That doesn't mean he was willing to sell the kit for $131.50. A previous customer makes a request for a BIN listing. He obliges and lists it for the price he is willing to sell for. Said customer then complains about the price (which is still reasonable). He's thinking to himself: "I just did this guy a favor, he's complaining, he is potential trouble and might give me negative feedback." Since sellers can no longer give negative feedback to buyers, they really have no recourse, and it's better to cut off any potential trouble before it happens. Now do I agree with how he is handling things... well, I don't like to comment on how other retailers handle customer service, but I'll just say, I think he could be more receptive to your emails (assuming they are polite). And frankly using ebay as a sole outlet to sell your product is stupid. From small sellers they get 10%... including 10% of the shipping fees. Ebay should only be used to try to bring out those who don't know about your product to begin with. At $139, ebay is going to get $13.90 - that brings his take down to $125.1 (not counting paypal fees). He could lower the price by $9 and sell the kit directly for $130 and still come out $4.90 ahead! - over the course of 20 kits, that's $98! I'd rather make $98 than pay eBay $278! And like you, I'm not a fan of auctions. When I look for something on Ebay I narrow it down to BIN listings only. Putting things up for bid only cuts your potential customer base IMO.

don't take this personally Your summation leaves out the facts that I had already bought three kits from him, complimented each one, told him I was looking forward to the Vanwall, made a marketing suggestion that he applied to all of his products and only after all of this, when I complained about the price hike, which appeared to apply solely to the Vanwall but NOT to any of his other products, only then was I black balled. Did he do me a favor by switching to BIN listings or did I do him a favor by making the suggestion in the first place? Is $139.00 the price he should have originally posted? Would he have had to sell the kit for $131.50 if no one else had bid on it? Keep in mind, the switch to BIN was simultaneous with my exclusion. So, he took my advice and then cursed me for it. I really have no idea how kit manufacturers calculate their price points. Harold Bradford told me the other day that the reason his Miller kit is so "expensive" is that he hand laces the wire wheels! I said, just give me the components and save yourself the agony. But he wants to do it his way and I am going to pay him for the privilege. The idea that I could appear to be "trouble" to a vendor when, prior to this, I have made my complaints one on one, is plausible but terribly disappointing. My e-mails, once I grasped the situation, may not have been the most polite (I did go so far as to characterize his behavior as "infantile") but prior to being exiled I was not just polite, I was a big fan. I have not reported this to e-bay. I have not given negative feedback. I have done my best to keep this dispute private. I am reporting this on this board with great reluctance. But, what the Hell. I am never going to get that Vanwall at any price. I have more models in my closet than I can ever build and I do have that Merit kit. pbh

FPPM will also do the Auto Union Type c 1936 in 1/24th scale by this summer.
^ If you still can't get the FPPM kits you want by next year I can order them for you and bring them to the Ferrari Expo 2015... I know that's along way away but by them he will have added alot of new F1 kits!!

The FPPM Talbot Lago T26GS Lemans 1950 winning 1/24th scale kit is now available. This is the first large scale kit of the 1950 Lemans winner ever.

I did finally get that Vanwall. Not that FP ever relented, but a friend of mine was kind enough to act as intermediary.
It is an excellent kit, just as his Porsche, BRM and Cooper, the only others that I also own.
It is amazing to me that he can produce such quality kits of such unique subjects faster than I can build even one.

He told me he has many projects that he has been working on for years half done. Only thing lacking is more photoetch. I am not sure if that would make them better or just more normal. I have the Talbot Lago and it is great. I ordered the Ferrari 375 and am also looking forward to the Ferrari 1955 Monaco winner and Auto Union. I will try to build the 1932 Alfa Lemans winner and one of the F1 kits for the Ferrari Expo 2015 in late March. Hope you can finish a F1 project to display at the Expo also. There is a delightful guy on one of the FB F1 forums named Luiz Fernando Pinto from Brazil. He shows mostly die cast and built up plastic kits from his vast collection. I asked if he was THAT Fernando Pinto and he responded but I couldn't understand what he meant. Same guy?
