I hope somebody with better eyes than mine, can tell us what those race day contingency decals are. The one directly under the mirror looks like Bowes Seal fast. The two to the left to it are 1961 tech stickers. The hexagon below the tech stickers is Klincher lock-nuts. To the left of the #17, there is a pretty clear Bear, and to the lower left of that is Ideal hose clamps. That is all I can discern for sure. The oval above Bear 'could' be Monroe. That is the only oval shaped contingency that I am aware of from 1961, but the photo in question isn't clear enough to be certain.

That helps, Michael. The Bowes, and Bear were the only ones I could figure out.

Not sure how recent this is, but I see Pinto now has many more pics of the kit in his eBay ad. There wasn't much before. I'm getting kind of interested now.

After the 375 Indy is released he will be doing the 1914 Mercedes GP car in 1/24th scale!!!! The wire wheels should make it worth it just to have the kit. He has to be the most prolific model car kit maker on earth!! A lot better than making modern clone race car models.

You are so right Tom!I hope he doesn't produce a Brabham before I finish my BT3! A BT7 or 11 would be nice tho! Lots of possibilities!

Fernado Pinto is getting ready to release a bunch of 1950's racing Ferrari's in 1/24th scale. He has a few F1 cars also planned. The sports Ferrari's include a 340 1953 Mille Miglia winner, Lemans 340, Pan Am 1953 340 Chinetti and 375 1954 winner and a surprise Ferrari from the 1950's I hope that he does, one of the best looking Ferrari's ever!!

I hope Phil Hill's 1960 Ferrari 246 is in the cards to be done someday. I really would like to do the last front engined F1 winner.

FPPM Fernando Pinto models has really been releasing the 1950's sports car and vintage GP kits at a really fast pace... He has a few more planned for this summer, 2 of wich will blow your minds if you like important 1950's sports cars that have never been done in 1/24th scale before.

The FPPM 1/24th Mercedes 1914 GP car is out and has a first for FP, a large very well done photoetch sheet with grills, lots of details and many parts. That along with the chassis detail and hand laced wire wheels makes this one of the best pre WWI race car kit's I have seen in many years. A must have!!!

FPPM will be at it again with several more 1950's F1 cars and the just released Bluebird record car from 1933. Also a few sportscars from the 1950's. He will be doing several versions of the Porsche 550 Spyder racing version from 1954-1956 including Lemans, Targa Florio and the Pan Americana... About time someone did this in a nice quality kit!!
And that's not it!!! Big plans for race car lovers in 1/24th scale. The F1 choices are very cool and interesting. You will see what I mean in a few months.

yeah bluebird! i remember visiting my grandmother when i was a little kid (early '60's) and afterwards going not too far down US -1 in daytona to the museum of speed. it seemed like the bluebrd took up the whole museum with it's massive size. i think the tires were all heavily worn and almost shredded from the runs on the beach. it was almost as if an alien ship had landed there. not what i was used to seeing when it came to race cars... duane

The first of many "red" cars by FPPM. He just showed his Lancia Ferrari 1956 D50 French GP aero car kit in 1/24th scale. A long and interesting list of F1+Sportscars to come from this most prolific of manufactures.

Not an F1 car but amazing just the same, FPPM will do the Ferrari 335 S 1957 Mille Miglia winner in 1/24th with full chassis detail. He has been planning this since January and due to Hiro's 1/12th kit is releasing it now. He has a few vintage F1 cars planned for later this year. He also announced an Aston Martin V8 Lemans 1979 coupe this month.

The Ferrari 315/335S kit is out. You can do the Lemans cars along with Mille Miglia cars. Chassis numbers #0684 and #0700, the late body style are the cars he made. Look at the pictures on ebay or ferrarichat. It looks perfect. He says the next 2 will be the 1979 Aston Martin LM V8 and 1953/1954 Porsche 550 LM and PA. He has some interesting F1 projects planned so he might surprise us early next year.

FPPM will do a Ferrari 553 Squalo F1 1954 in 1/24th scale right after they release the Porsche 550 Spider 1953/1954.

I finished the FPPM Lancia Ferrari D50 French GP aero from 1956 in 1/24th scale. Very nice old school kit. I decided to change the wheels, but in general Fernando's wheels are wonderful.
