For those that also build sportscars FPPM will be doing the Ferrari 330TRI/LM Lemans 1962 winner along with a Porsche 906 in 1/24th scale next. Do you think he should put engines in the kits??

I knew them... they should basically depict Tazio Nuvolari, Bernd Rosemeyer and Rudolf Caracciola...

I have the Auto Union 1936 German GP winner and Fernando out did himeself on this one!! Full engine. The wire mesh grill and hand laced wire wheels are stunning. The rest of the kit reminds me of a military aircraft transkit with every tiny detail molded in. What a motor in a true beast of a car. The NAZI decals are also included on the decal sheet.

For those of you looking for driver and team manager figures for your 1/24th, 1/32nd and 1/43rd models try this company. He has more in the works. Very talented. Tazio will be needed for several future and present FPPM models as will Fangio(in the works:)) Gurney also in the works could be used with the FPPM Porsche 802 and many others. Hill could be used with the FPPM BRM. Neubauer with any old Mercedes. www.immenseminiatures.com/products.html

Immense Miniatures is a small company run by a Marc Tyler and his wife Heidi. They are prop makers for the movie industry primarily.
The figures are initially moulded and carved in clay by Heidi and then they are 3D scanned. From there Marc takes over and they are converted into a 3D program for printing through Shapeways.
I believe Dan Gurney is done and available, and Jack Brabham is now in the works. All figures are available with or without helmet, or goggles, and most come with a variety of helmets depending upon the era required.
Marc sells primarily 1/32 scale for slot cars, but 1/24th is available too. All figures are available with correct fully reclining body.....but as the say, some assembly required.
Immense miniatures is a fast moving company, it's best to stay in touch with them through Facebook, yes guys were in the 21st century here!

They do not move that fast as the figures are hand carved in clay the old fashioned way, something I love to see still. FPPM is the same way, and I find their models capture the feeling of the cars better than models from Hiro/Studio 27 almost all the time!! www.facebook.com/Immense.MiniaturesBy the way, the FPPM Ferrari 1962 Lemans winner is almost ready and I will have photos from Fernando soon. The front and back body panels open and the kit has full chassis detail. He will also do the 906 withe full engine detail followed by either the 1954 Phill Hill Ferrari with engine detail or another Lemans/F1 car all in 1/24th scale. We need a good Phil Hill figure from Immense Miniatures in 1/24th and other scales!!

FPPM have just released the 1/24th Ferrari 330TRI 1962 Lemans winner with an all new body and opening front and back lids along with full chassis detail. Next up is a suprise Cooper T53 1960 F1 champion kit in 1/24th scale. He wants to know if he should also do the indy version? ? What do you think. Should go great with the Jack Brabham figure Immense Miniatures is doing!! 1959 Cooper also still available from FPPM. After that the Porsche 906 full detail kit in 1/24th. He will do the Cooper Indy. Take a look at his facebook page. That Auto Union looks as good as a kit in the box as it does built!!! www.facebook.com/fernandopintomodels?pnref=lhc#!/fernandopintomodels?pnref=lhc Also Immense Miniatures is doing a Fangio figure in 1/32nd and 1/24th scale!! FPPM says he will be doing alot more vintage F1 and sportscar kits next year in 1/24th scale. Happy Holidays.......

Happy holidays to you, Tommy... At the beginning of my thread on the 156 Sharknose, you wrote that you couldn't wait the final result, but I didn't see any comment from you...

I have both a 1/20th scale MFH and Revival 1961 Ferrari 156 Sharknose, but to replicate a particular car I’ve decided to go with 1/24th scale. Watching Phil Hill at the wheel of the “blood red Ferrari” as Jim McKay used to say, at Monaco and Monza on ABC’s Wide World of Sports, and reading about the 1961 season in Road & Track got me interested in F1 . I’ve been interested in presentation cars for a number of years and it hit me that the reason for this goes all the way back to the 1962 presentation of the updated 156. I’ve had the Jonathan Thompson drawings of that car that were published in Road & Track all these years, so I decided today that the best way to model that particular car would be to start with the Pinto kit and so I ordered it today. I’ve only seen photos of the built up car, but I assume that it’s a curb side. I don’t think it has nearly the amount of detail of the 1963 156 Aero kit, but I think will be fine for my purposes. Speaking of the 1963 156 Aero, that will be the next kit on my list as I also want to build John Surtee’s 1963 German GP winner. Can’t figure out why Pinto didn’t model the kit in that form as it was the only race the car won. So, there will be more mods for that kit too. If anyone wants to help me towards that goal, I have my Revival 156 for sale in the sales section.

I can understand your intention to sell the Revival kit... but why did you decide to purchase the Pinto kit if you already got the magnificent MFH?

I can understand your intention to sell the Revival kit... but why did you decide to purchase the Pinto kit if you already got the magnificent MFH? I'm saving the MFH kit for building Phil Hill's 1961 Italian GP winner. I'm going to use the 1/24th scale Pinto kit to replicate the 1962 presentation car. Since my goal is just a curb side and the main visual differences between the '61 and '62 cars is body work, I thought that the Pinto kit would be the best way to go for me. Paul Erlendson

Fernando says he should have the Indy Cooper out after the Thrust II jet car is finished, both in 1/24th scale.
Also Immense Miniatures is done with all the driver heads in 1/24th but are still working on the short and tall standing driver bodies. Jimmy, Dan, Juan, Jack, Jackie, Tazio all done in 1/32nd and 1/24th with more scales coming.

I'm interested in seeing more photos of the Cooper T54 other than the ones shown on EBay and Pinto's Facebook page. Does the bottom half (chassis/suspension) look pretty much like his Cooper T53? Thanks. All very interesting. I wasn't being clear enough though in asking about photos of the Pinto model kit itself.
