Michael, how's the progress on this project? Unser car is mostly finished (curbside). Been real busy upgrading computer equipment so I can keep furnishing decals for a long time to come - haven't made as much progress as I'd like.

The first one is finished. As mentioned, I did this as curbside. The other two will have engine detail. When I originally did this sheet - and the Mears sheet - I pretty much followed the original kit Mears decals for markings and sizes. Well, turns out the original sheet was wrong. The numbers were too small, the sidepod markings were too small, and the markings on the rear wing endplate were inaccurate. I fixed both sheets to makethem more accurate. My new Sullivan sheet also has improved the accuracy of the original kit decals - again the numbers were too small, as were the Miller logos on the sidepods.

That's beautiful Michael. So am I wrong in asking if the Miller set I got is up to date? I got mine shortly after you offered them.
Also, are the tire markings part of your tire decal sets?

Looks great, nice clean look! Detailing the dark lines on the nose really make it look good.

Not yet, but I hope to finish up this week, and then I'm going to do Al Unser's 87 winner. It's really aggravating trying to build these kits up nice without doing them curbside.

What is the size of the drill bit you use to drill the holes in the body and suspension?

Fantastic Michael. First off, I'm glad to hear you made it through the tornadoes unscathed. As for the models, I love the engine detail but I have to ask if the Chevrolet graphic on the plenum (?) is something that comes with the decal set or is it for sale somewhere else?
When do you think this set will be on your website?

Awesome. I always thought AMT should have them on their sheets. Any chance of getting them for the Mario Lolas? Yeah, I'm too demanding aren't I?

They're already on the 1988 Mario sheet, I'll get them on the 87 sheet too.

Very cool! I didn't know that Sullivan's car had that fuel cover for the start. I guess it goes with the wheel covers, Didn't Mears have the team take the wheel covers off halfway throught the race to help fix the set up of the car?

I don't know the reason, but yes, he is pictured taking the checkered flag without the wheel covers.

They all look great. There were already 7 Indy wins among them at this point with an 8th only hours away..... and of course, Mears wasn't done winning yet :-) The Mears car started off the race with the flush wheels. As his teammates took off, the Z-7 Special handling was was not good. They decided to try standard wheels to help the handling and when it worked, it left the pit guys scrambling to get all of the race tires off of the flush wheels and onto standard wheels. You really are a great open wheel builder Mike! It is great having you posting on this board! Very nicely built, presented, photographed, etc. I do have to ask, what did you use for the rear wheel kickup support? Looks like a little pin or thin wire Jordan

Awesome curbside builds, Michael. Your work is top drawer as always.
BTW: Did you get my email about the problem I am having?
Thanks for sharing Bill <><

Awesome Mike. Every detail was well thought out and the paint/decal combo is top notch. I really like the wheel covers.
I do have one question that Jordan will probably have the answer for: What was the point of Sullivan having the cover on the fuel filler if it was just going to be taken off?
