hmmm Did I really miss out on this? Do you have anymore available? Chris Unfortunately no, Im completely out of white metal and my 1982 Wildcat molds are shot. It will be a couple months before I re-stock them. Also true for the 1981 Wildcat, I can see you bought the last one, for now....thank you for your order, I'll have that shipped out ASAP.

Are you guys ready for another old-fashioned WIP??? I really need to come out with a new example build for my upgraded version of the 1982 Wildcat kit. I've been selling it with a dry-fitted example for so many years. LOL You guys are crazy for buying it, we still don't know if it looks good finished yet? Im going to make this my rough draft for my Website Blog posts Part one. Wash your resin parts in tire bleach and give them a scrub down with Dawn dish soap. (IMG) I lost my picture of this process, so just pretend{/img} Scuff up the surface so the primer will have something to grab onto. if your scuff pad isn't working well with the resin, just wet sand the bare resin with fine grit sand paper to give it a "sticky" feel on the surface. This is really the most important part of the painting process. Next sand up your resin tires Paint with Tamiya Rubber Spray paint Then add Indycals tired decals Tamiya Flat clear will seal the deal I like to apply Tamiya smoke over the white tire logos to give it that real gritty look Then Paint and added Indycals seat belts

Test fit all the white metal suspension parts. First drill out the top rocker-arm suspension using a #48 - 0.081" drill and #56 - 0.046" drill bit for the steering rod Drill out the lower wishbones using a #53 - 0.059" drill Mock up the front wing using a lead pencil to make sure the wing and front tip of the nose will line up correctly and drill up a #56 - 0.046" hole into the end of the front wing. Use a 3/64' brass rod and super glue it into the front wing After you clean your resin. You MUST use Laquer primer on resin or else.... Preferable Tamiya white surface primer. YOU MUST use white primer for your base if you dont your color coat will look horrible. I like to get this step over with early on as adding depth to the model is very important. I choose to do this first as the black will still show through the blue paint and its messy as you can see. Just wipe the excess off and wet sand the rest off. On this 1982 Wildcat its important to spray the Tamiya TS-23 Light Blue on the bottom first as the front suspension cover is large and hard to get under and also the side radiator exits.

Gentlemen: This was dated sometime in 2011…put off FOREVER because of the “masking job from H*ll.” Not anymore!!!!! All you have to do is as follows: 1) Purchase Calvin’s products 2) Wait 12 years 3) Build it when Michael eliminates the masking “Patience is a virtue. Catch it if you can. Seldom found in woman: NEVER found in man.”—-Granny Jones (sometime in the 1950’s) Tim

Yeah, that’s pretty cool. Is the fluorescent red a 2 layered decal over the white decal? Also, are you going to clear coat it? Curious to see what happens if you do cause I remember Fred Cady decals would move sometimes if you did the layers at once. I would layer one color, light clear, then the next and so on till I got to a final clear. Thanks goodness for Indycals and I only have to do that with some pace cars now.

Mike Yes, we are developing this sheet that has one layer of white with two dayglow decals to help make it more vivid 😎 I'd recommend waiting an hour in-between layers. When you put a layer over another carefully line them up, dab most of the water out and slowly adjust it and apply decal solution without touching the top layer very much and let the decal solution do its work.

Gentlemen: This was dated sometime in 2011…put off FOREVER Lol that was my very first kit, I didn't know what the heck I was doing. I thought this was going to be a one off kit I'd do and never again. But it makes me feel good to know it's still a good looking kit as Tom Faletti won an award with my first generation of this kit!

Did you cut this portion of the decal (post setting solution) to make it conform to the filler port

Calvin: Michael says his day-glo decals are made for the new mold…will they retrofit the old kit? Are the dimensions different? Please let me know… Thanks! Tim
