Anyone who has the Al Unser Cummins March kit by AMT knows that they didn't bother to finish off the bottom of the tub. And if you are really familiar with the car you'd also notice that the part they supplied, is still wrong. I will be producing a correct tub to use with the kit. What I would LIKE to do is also do radiators, more correct rear suspension (the 86C did NOT have rear pushrods and upper wishbones), those funky scoops at the back of the engine cover, and the part of the under tray that is missing under the engine. But at the very least, there will be this (more detail still to be added):

I need to set aside some money x 4 for this project, too. Time to raise some $$ on eBay.
Nice work so far, Michael. Are you just measuring the kit by hand or have to found an easy way to scan small parts?

Glad to here that this is now on your schedule Michael! Any plans for more 86C parts like the Rahal scoop over the transaxle?

I'll be getting multiples, really looking forward for the scoops on the back...also interested in all aftermarket products for 1986 - 1989 Indy cars based off the 1/25 AMT kits or 1993 1/20th Indy Lola's from Tamiya. Thanks for the aftermarket products!

Shapeways doesn't allow hotlinking of the images on their site, from my previous experience.

Well, at least with this one I already have the kits and not adding new ones to the shelf. Just added more parts! Paul Erlendson

Will the engine cover fit over this?
Might as well have them make suspension to go along with it. Face it, these kit's are not very good. Great for stirring interest, but that's about it. This era screams for a really high quality kit, and entire kit. That can be built! I have fought and fought the engine covers, tub to bottom pan, seam issues and being warped for almost thirty years. They kind of look cool when your done, but you have TONS of time fiddling with them. Not to mention hacking all the suspension off so you can fill the seam. Then pinning the thing back together......... Geesh, I would love to have a great kit of this era of March or Lola.
I picked one up at the airport for Christ's Sakes!!! Brand new and in a crate. Drove to Ohio with a trailer to pick up another after Dobson smashed his primary car and broke his leg. These cars were great. Send them a check and they made you a car, all for the low low price of 300K. Less engine, transmission, exhaust, shift linkage and plumbed by blind welders who never heard of purge welding.

One of the part ideas I had for the March 86C is the Chevy engine cover. You are welcome to do it if that appeals to you. Jordan

You guys are on your own with the engine cover and other bodywork modifications. The kit engine cover will fit as well as it does now

That air scoop was daunting, but once I started working on it, it came together fairly quickly. I don't thing I'm going to do the teardrop style one (like Cogan used), a) because not many cars used it, and b), I simply don't have any good reference of it.

Since you aren't doing a teardrop scoop, now I want one! FYI I'm in an annoy everyone mood today!
