Best I've found so far is the CMK (Czeck Master) CH-47 Chinook engine set for the Italieri kit. A few on eBay. Problem is that a lot of the fairing is still molded on. Might be a start for you though. If you look deeper at this helicopter kit you'll find photo etch for the engine also. With your casting skills maybe you can create something with these parts? Paul Erlendson Fantastic! Thats about what I was wishing for! I can work with that! I've been searching around but I wasn't coming up with this. I kept of focusing on typing in Lycoming T55 turbine....I guess I should have tried Chinook engine. Paul! If I finish a 1/48 "generic" late pickle fork Hydro kit I will build a Lotus 34.

BTW, Not my official announcement but I've been working on my own little hydroplane forum in the last month. feel free to check it out and join if you want, I'll be working on it more later....mainly when I feel like it. I felt like I need my own place to talk about all my hydro stuff in its own organized location, instead of flooding this forum all the time..... hydroplane-racing.freeforums.net/

Hold on, Paul. Calvin is using me as yet another feeble excuse not to do the Lotus. All you have to do is finish that Ferrari, and he has committed himself.

I would not call it porn, Calvin, but it's not anything I would want my grandchildren to see.

Sorry, maybe a bit obscure. A Zoolander reference.

That's impressive, Sandy. That just might cause an underwear emergency for Calvin. He will, no doubt, need at least a dozen of those.

I actually have one....Patrick gave it to me! There is usually more on ebay for a cheaper price I think? I plan on putting two big turbos on mine and building a 1/25 scale 1986 Holset Miss Madison.

This is an awesome video from the smooth salty "superspeedway" course of San Diego! I love the V12 Twin Turbo Allison engine and cockpit shots. I also like that it shows the whole race process, the countdown, fire up, the milling period, the race, and the shutdown. I really love this boat as I got to be up close and personal with it and this great engine in the pits last July and also got a turbinator t-shirt and feel free to check out my personal hydroplane forum playpen. hydroplane-racing.freeforums.net/

May be a silly or stupid question, but what is it about these beasts that creates the huge rooster tail? Doesn't seem to matter if they are piston or turbine powered.

That throws lots of water up in the air. Plus, it looks cool.
