I contacted the MP2 Motorsports Research Center to see if they could help me with the 1967 Lotus side tank....very quickly the brain room got me some pics and I was able to adjust my tank little more accurately. I made it longer and adjusted the rear of it more.

The reason for all the DNS was it was 1966 the teams didn't have 18 wheel haulers to haul every thing in the shop like today so the lack of spare parts was the reason a lot of car were listed as DNS. In 1966 the cars were tow on Open trailers behind a Station Wagon or Pick Up Truck, The only race the teams had spare parts was the 500. Remember when Foyt's Lotus was unable to run at Milwaukee, and he drove his Dirt Car and almost won the race against all the rear engine cars. The only reason he had his dirt car was they race the day before at the Springfield 100, drove overnight to Milwaukee with the dirt car in tow, to meet up with the rest of the team. Walt Hi Walt, thanks for posting this. Really interesting story and part of what makes this era so cool. Just imagine driving along and a station wagon pulling a trailer with a Lotus or Foyt's dirt car on it rolls by! Sandy

I guess I will make it official on this thread, I am now taking pre-orders for the re-issue of the type 38 Lotus. This will ship after the McLaren M15's so we are probably looking at mid to late Nov. As there are several cars that can be built from this I will not be including decals, these will need to be ordered directly from Indycals. Cost is $105.00 U.S. and $115.00 Overseas. I will release another notification about this release through my website this weekend. Lance

I can only find one picture of the white race day tank and its a very blurry picture but the tank looks different from the qualifying tank....if no one can come up with a race day shot then I'm not knocking myself out over it and will just continue with the qualifying tank.

You must have seen the same photo I saw. A blurry photo of Clark passing another car. No need to knock yourself out over the race tank. I'm sure you'll find something else to knock yourself out over.

In that picture of Chapman and Clark it looks like Chapman is holding a smartphone in his right hand. It took me a couple of seconds to realize that was impossible and about a minute to recognize that as a dual mechanical stopwatch.

Bingo... Specifically one helmet from each of the 1970's world champions. Part of a new line of driver specific decal sets I'm working on (not just helmet's but driving suits too).

What do you guys think? I'm still not too sure about the rear part and the front as I can't confirm what they really look like in the pics....but if you guys like what I have then its OK.

Do you guys want a 1965 Dan Gurney windscreen? I think there might be a 2nd layer under on bottom of the first, but I dont think anyone would worry about wanting that! It would be just more "bad clutter" and impossible to glue on. I would just sculpt the top element with the seam all in one.

Needs some more definition IMO. Did I send you the pics where Clark has his right elbow up and he appears to be shielding his eyes from the sun? Or the one where three's three mechanics on the ground working on the back of the car? (I deleted the ones I sent you so I don't recall what they were).
