The trans linkage arm that travels the length of the car from the cockpit to the back of the transaxle appears to be way too big, any thoughts of changing from 1/16 aluminum tubing/rod to piano wire? Just saying.. Great work I really like the turned parts on the half-shafts, steering column and pop off valve, now those I would buy!! The half shaft pieces would work on so many cars Indy, F-1,IMSA etc.. Keep the up-dates coming on this Excellent build.. Thanks Chris It is.

Just a thought; with this much detail on such a work of art, and completion drawing near, what do you do next? You've set a very high bar for yourself.

My brother is aching to have me build the 1/16th general lee for him. That will be my next build and then I will get back to the Indy cars. I am toying with the idea of doing an impact diorama with an Indy car........something I have always wanted to try.

My final set of images for the Lola Chevrolet build. The heavy mods to the engine cover turned out very well .

The engine cover is not sitting down firmly but you get the idea of what it looks like. Pretty comfortable saying that I have 200 hours in this kit.

Beautiful piece of work, you have inspired me to look at ways to improve my model building! Thanks for sharing!

I've figured it out: You're not a master modeler, you're a great prop' master! That's a real car sitting on giant "prop" paint bottles, surrounded by giant X-Acto knives and huge decal sheets and "third hands"! You must have a very large studio to work in! Which movie company do you work for?

Wow.... AWESOME build. I am just getting back into modelling after a very long absence. (It's been about 40 years since I was "heavy" into it.) Seeing this wip has given me lots of ideas. Can't wait to get started. (I sure am glad I found this forum!!!)

Well deserved, this model needs to be in the 500 museum.

Well deserved, this model needs to be in the 500 museum. it's my understanding that they ONLY feature 500 winners in the cases there.

I know, but this one needs to be displayed somewhere in the museum. It would be cool to do a pit stop diorama or may bee the garage area.

The Speedway should make an exception, otherwise its the Speedway's loss

What would be neat is if they could do a picture of the model car and than have a picture with the real car side by side with this model in its own display stand. Than people could vote which picture they think the real car is or the model car. I am sure they could find someone to do photo-shop and take a picture of this car and impose it in were the real car is. Than people visiting the museum could push a button and decide which picture is the model car in. May bee if they guess correctly they could get a 10% coupon to the gift shop. To guess you would have to fill out your e-mail address or something so you can only do it once. Just a thought.

I think I learned more about Indy cars just looking through this thread than I have anywhere else. This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen on any modeling forum ever. While I will likely never even attempt to reach this level, there are indeed many ideas that I likely will use in future builds. Thanks for sharing this with us.
