Here is the start of the 1964 Old Calhoun "Ram-air intake" nose. Besides the big air intake, the differences from the 1963 nose are the flares are more smooth/rounded, and the nose holes are more squared.

Hi Calvin,
Will you be offering this nose conversion any time soon? I know I was out of commission and may have missed it. ??

Hi Mongo! No worries you haven't missed anything and you will never miss anything with my resin business. It will most likely be this summer.

Entertainer from the old days. Was called the "Schnozzola" for reasons that were visually apparent.

You will have to excuse Calvin. He thinks recorded history started in 1980.

You will have to excuse Calvin. He thinks recorded history started in 1980. Except for motor racing. I'm actually really dumb when it comes to everything but motor racing.

Coming soon! Michael is working hard on the decals and we are currently sizing everything up! These are EXCITING TIMES!!!!!! But we have one problem! We need your help in naming this kit! Should we call it the "Ram-air nose" Old Calhoun?or the "Snorkel nose" Old Calhoun?

How about "The Ram-Snorkel-Air-Nose New & Improved Old Calhoun"? Simple, and says it all! Brian

This might be a little coincidental, but I learned today that Parnelli himself actually calls this nose the "Snorkel nose" which thats what I was calling before knowing that's what he did! (I don't know if Craig will let me get away with saying this, but great minds think alike! ) So IMO if Parnelli calls it that then I think thats what the name should be! and in other news just getting the body work cleaned up - nothing too exciting yet.....just saving this glue bomb. Oh BTW in case you want to know were this glue bomb came from. LOL (You cant believe how many models I recycle of my own!) mb2501.proboards.com/thread/3212/1963-willard-battery-calhoun-glueand what is really sad is this 63 Old Calhoun glue bomb was actually a glue bomb from before! LOL So this model has been done over 3 times and I'm the original owner since 2006!

Glad to see that we all recycle either our own stuff or "finds." This is really interesting as a end to an era. Foyt and Parnelli were the last hold-outs and made a major statement in 1964. Thanks for doing this. jim

I'm liking the snorkel nose, looking forward to seeing the final build up in the 64 roadster. Don't get near that hot exhaust!!
A friend recently gave me a Lotus 29 glue bomb that he built in the early 80's as a Jimmy Clark. It has a broken front suspension that is fixable. I am not sure what I want to do with this yet.
What's a good method to un-glue the parts? Never really had much success at that.
