Wow, who knew there was this much love for the '78 Wildcat?? First Stu in 1/18 and now you in 1/25. I always think the aero variations of this era are fun to see in scale. Good times on the OW forum!

Calvin, What color blue did you use? I originally used Tamiya Brilliant Blue but after getting the decals my blue is too dark. I will be repainting as soon as it warms up past 20 degrees here in Ohio but was just curious.

Tamiya Light Blue TS-23
I can see why you used the darker blue because so many pics look darker than they really should....

I think I can darken the blue on the decals a bit... but not to the point of TS44 - that is too dark for this car - I am in agreement on TS23.

Here is a resin project that everyone seems to have forgotten about but here it is. I've been working on this for a little longer than I would have wanted but its done and ready for a next Wednesday release along with the Dallara DW12 kit. This is a simple Trans-kit - Body, Cowling, Front Wing, Rear Wing, Front suspension parts Vac-u-form windscreen and easy to follow instructions with templates. This kit requires a 1/25 AMT Eagle donor and or the highly accurate Indycals Resin Offenhauser which both will fit right onto the resin body, no test fitting, no measuring, it simply fits right on! The good thing about using the AMT Eagle as a donor is you will use most of the kit, and it will not feel like a waste. The body of the AMT is completely inaccurate, the only good parts are the ones you need for this 1977/78 Wildcat. I'm pretty happy with how everything came out. The body is a little more sophisticated than what most people realise! The price will be $48.00

Nice Calvin! I've been wondering what to do with the old Eagle glue bomb I have packed away. Looking at Indycal's parts page it looks like you almost get away without a donor kit.
What would you recommend for tires? The ones with the Eagle are beyond awful.
Thanks! MJ

What would you recommend for tires? The ones with the Eagle are beyond awful. I'm just using Late 80's AMT's rears and PC6 fronts. BTW I fixed my black spot for those that were loosing sleep over it.

BTW #2
I'm going to put on that silly head strap that Gordy used in the race....it was a black looking bungee strap that went from he roll hoop down to the right side of the cockpit somewhere.....just take a look in the 77 yearbook to see what I'm talking about.

Meow! Like I said This will be released on Wednesday along with the DW12.....it looks like I will only have 15 Wildcats ready as the darn mold broke on me already Kinda strange for being such a simple mold compared to the DW12 and that one is still going strong....go figure? But I will make more but 15 will be a start for now..... I need to take a few days off after Wednesday as I've been working really hard to get these ready.

I was puzzling over that while researching the Lola 332 that Gordy drove at the Long Beach GP. It's real long and attached high on the airbox. Took me a long time to figure out its purpose. The F5000 FB group helped out on that. Gordy did things his way, no matter how weird it looked. MJ

The wheels are on. You know this is a very easy build actually. Besides doing the scratch building and casting. This build has only taken a totally of 3 hours thus far.....no really. But I have been really going fast on it and really been busy on other things. I imagine other people will build this better than what I've done thus far as I really haven't been able to put the 100% full attention into this like I would normally do for a personal build......

Thank you Michael! I am assuming there will be '77 decals as well. I am much better with a no-masking paint scheme. :-)

I am much better with a no-masking paint scheme. :-) Oh its not that hard! Its all straight lines. How about this! If you do a WIP and build a 1978 North American Wildcat and finish it.....I'll send you a free Wildcat to do the 1977 STP. Deal?
