Oh what might have been had Scott not passed the pace car. He was clearly the fastest car on the track. JV Reynard donor car was used to recreate.

Imagine putting a model of the 1995 Pace car right next to it as a representation of when he blew it

Just Tamiya bright yellow. I could never determine if the car was florescent or not.

Looks to be fluorescent yellow: I would agree that it would be Fluo yellow because on TV Flou yellow always has a limeish yellowish look and also just compare it to the yellow line on the race track...

Absolutly beautiful job and what a great looking subject. Love the helmet support - guess he didn't worry much about who was coming on the outside!
For what it's worth, I saw Andre Rebiero run the team car at LBGP that year and in my age adled head it has always been fluorescent. Not saying it was, but that's what I remember.
Of course, once upon a time I used to think my now ex-wife was sane. Shows how messed up my mind is.

It was a tough call for sure. I have several pics and sometimes it looks floro and sometimes it doesn't. High res photos are tough to come by. The qualifying pic that Mike posted doesn't convince me it's floro but it is very bright. The head on shot above looks floro lime green to me and it certainly not that color in the Q-Pic.

Great job on it, Stu. I love your work and adding the driver is a lot of effort but I love the extra you put into it. I was at this race, the day after high school graduation. As a graduation gift, I got to bring my best friend. He caught the racing bug that day. Good times. The car was definitely flo-yellow but still this one looks great as-is - no big deal.

Always thought about making this one but could never bring myself to sacrifice a speedway version Reynard. Too much $$$ for a donor... No need. Get a cheap 96 Richie Hearn & convert it to SW. I have 5 or 6.

Whatever flo yellow or purple it's a great replica. I've made many with off color, when you can't find many reference pics it's poke & hope.

I could since I was the one who requested this. It's just as well, wouldn't converting an RC Reynard be more expensive to convert to a Speedway Reynard combined with changing paint and what not? I would think by doing what I did, especially because I don't care for Villeneuve, it would save time and effort because all that would need to be done is stripping and repainting because the chassis doesn't need to be altered at all. Right?

not to hijack, but did they ever make the 1995 Valvoline Reynard in 1:18? I am obsessed with that car, and the Racing Champions version doesn't do it justice.

Yes Aaron, it would have cost you much more to convert a Hearn because of the mods.
Mike - I only know of a Racing Champions diecast in 1/24th for the 95 Valvoline.

Very nice. That race was all Scott. They should have never penalized him. All the things they let go and the other things they don't. Sometimes I just don't get it. It was clearly the fault of the pace car and they even admitted it by going with no pace car on the green the next year and have been doing it ever since. Pace cars cant go 200+ and they shouldn't have to. Nice job on the conversion. I was there that year and I remember it being a bright yellow but not florescent. I think the color looks dead on.
