Here is the final version of this build - Graham Hill's 1968 Spanish GP winner. First F1 race for the gold and red livery, first F1 race (and Lotus win) after Jim Clark's passing, and last Team Lotus entered 49 as it was replaced by the 49B at the next race.

Wasn't this the first F1 car to carry a corporate sponsorship? I thought I read that somewhere.

I just read the other day that the first F1 corporate sponsorship (i.e. car painted to match the sponsor) was from Gunston in a non-points race in early 1968. But this was the first car in a points paying F1 race to be painted in a sponsor's livery. This livery also appeared in the Tasman series between the 1968 South African GP and Spanish GP.

Fantastic! Too bad, captain the sailor man gets covered by the hose. Also Too bad we dont have anymore smoking sponsors in racing anymore - I like all the money they brought. Plus the some of coolest cars were the smoking sponsored ones! Now we get stuck with a bunch of politically correct BS!

Michael, Just saw your build thread as I'm a brand new member. Just an outstanding build. I still remember seeing that car when it 1st debuted in Road & Track. I was startled to say the least after being so use to seeing the Green/Yellow livery for several years.
I just purchased two Ebrro kits/decals from you, and I'm having a hard time finding out who makes the proper size black ignition wires, and fuel injection lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
