Indy every year since 1989, the last race at Chicagoland speedway in 2010, St Pete in 2012, and all the Target Grand Prix / CART races at the long gone Chicago Motor Speedway in Cicero, IL. Also, the first Brickyard 400 in 1994 but haven't been back to that since cause it wasn't the same for me. It wasn't a race but in 2005 I drove my 8 laps on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway thru the Richard Petty Driving Experience with an average lap speed of 146 MPH. And it was the first weekend in May before the teams started to show up. One of the greatest experiences of my life.

This year was my 33rd Indy 500.
I've also been to many races at MIS, but couldn't tell you the years without looking it up.
Detroit - downtown, both race and qualifying Detroit - Belle Isle, qualifying only
St. Petersburg - Friday practice day
Homestead - 2006

Been to several Brickyard races at Indy (NASCAR), but only 1 Indy race which was at Mid-Ohio. Sad isn't it? ....this close to it, have relatives in Indy, and never been to a 500. That will definitely change as it is a bucket list item. It would be really neat to meet some of you while I'm there as well (extra bonus)..... Perhaps next years BBQ? ?

All but a couple of the races at Portland until they stopped coming here, and Long Beach '90. Guys, when the machine gets feeling better, we gotta get him to a race.

I've been to a couple at Mid-Ohio but the one that stands out is Mosport in the early 70s. Lots of the cars ran with offset suspensions and some of the drivers seemed to come to an almost complete stop at the tight right at the end of the front straight as if they were baffled by the idea of turning right.
We went up there with coolers full of Budweiser and the Canadians were trading us Molsons and LaBatts for Buds.

Indianapolis 500: 1975 thru 2005 but had to miss 76, 86 & 96. (glad I missed 76 & 86,those were rain-fests). Also 2009 Qualifying 1976 Stopped after I had my fill of IRL. It’s turned into a specified, non-innovative pack race with ugly cars. I won’t go back. Cleveland Grand Prix: Live nearby and went to many of the races but can’t remember years. Always liked skipping work, meeting my cousin there and watching all of Friday practice with a couple pints of rum. USGP: 2000 & 2001 Pespi 400 NASCAR 2003

1981 Detroit News GP was an interesting one as the lap count was screwed up but the finish was side by side - Mears won over Mario Andretti. Too bad Mario never got a win in the Wildcat. 1982 Detroit News GP was were Coogan and Foyt had a fiery crash in Turn 1 - Coogan screwed up once again and got into the side of Foyt

I went to only one which was at Laguna Seca in 1996. I did see the Indy Lights and took some photos of them. One was a "new" Lola for the 97 season.

No "real" Indy races, but I did attend all the USAC Dirt races at the (now gone) Syracuse mile. Saw Sam Sessions, Herk, Big Al, Mario and many others going sideways. Saw the crash that ended Gary B.'s Penske ride, saw Mario and Al race side by side for pretty much the whole hundred laps, Al won when Mario ran low on fuel, Sheldon Kinser and Pancho Carter were other winners. Some of the best and most exciting racing I've ever seen.

I can't remember all of them, I know in late 1967 and all of 1968 Uncle Sam had other plans for me and it didn't include going to any races. I did get to hear part of the 1968 Indy race on the Armed Forces Radio but the V.C, had other ideas that involved us. So it was about a week later that I found out what happened.
