I finally built up the courage to attack this car. I have to say breakdown of the Action Champ Cars is not an easy task at all! It was a beast to take apart! A couple of breaks but they will be easy fixes. Time to strip this thing now...

That rear wing screw was fun wasn't it? Everyone of these I painted I never got the engine cover to close right over the engine. Action tooling was pretty precise & layers of paint throws everything off a bit. I don't really care to do these Reynards. Good luck, looking forward to the finish.

I always hated removing the windscreens. They cracked, split, shattered... Everything but come off in one piece.

The biggest problem I have is getting them all back together without scratching up the paint job. Good luck and looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Amazing....how the decals are EXACTLY like the 1/25 ScaleCoachworks decals....look close if you have a set........SOOOO did some one really "DO" these or were they just copied and re-sized?? Just asking? ??

I was asked to recreate that sheet. Everything is completely redrawn by me, just placed as they were on the old (unavailable) sheet. Many hours of redraw time. Not some 30 second copy and paste job.

And you guys wonder why we don't have MORE "new items" being produced for us "open wheel" builders!!!!!! Does anyone really understand how much time and money goes into producing a decal sheet (printed by Cartograph vs an ALPS version) for a subject that barley sells enough to cover costs? At least you could have asked to COPY what I paid to have produced for "US"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And by the way, the ORIGINAL 1/25 decal sheet is STILL AVAILABLE at the "ORIGINAL" price of $12.00 U.S. if any of you are still interested!

Do you have any idea how many decal sheets I do FROM SCRATCH for people here? FOR FREE. I have no idea who you are or what you created 15 years ago. I was asked to make this sheet in 1:18 scale. That's it, period. I still fail to see how placing some art I redrew or pulled from my own collection from actual real life livery design is "copying" you.

I asked someone a while back if these were available...maybe it was you...and the answer was no. No offer to make in 1/18 scale for me at all. I think I even posted on here if anyone could do it and nothing. Again I'm new at this and asked MrPeters if he could and he did. No one is making money on this project only one set was made. Its for my personal collection. Lets take a step back here guys and calm down. Sorry for any misunderstandings this has caused.

And you wonder why Bill and Lance left this forum? ?? For GOODNESS sakes, I didn't SWEAR at you...as you did in you prior post! All you would have had to have done was to do a little research on this board, thtas all I was trying to say!!!! Now STOP IT.....and realize I am NOT your enemy! I'm just trying to bring up a VERY valid point....no more, no less!

I think I can say this, relax a little. No wonder some people are hesitant to help people on this Forum. This is a hobby and so what if some one does sell a model or two. There is never going to be a mass production and getting rich off of it. I think people are curious to how things are done. I know I would love to be able to do graphics and create my own decal sheets but I have no idea how it is done. This is a hobby and a great forum I have learned a lot from the post that people share. So lets all relax a little and get back to having fun. We a small breed of people that do this sort of thing. Half my friends think I am nuts for still collecting toys as they call it but than they are amazed at my collection. I tell them this is my passion (Indy cars) not football, golf or fishing but Indy cars and I love it. Keep up the good work the decals look great looking forward to seeing the car done.

Well said! I'm just trying to make some of the badass IndyCars that I've wanted in my collection for a long time. Ive gotten tons of help and a few cold shoulders but i guess thats how it is here. I will keep posting updates and those who are interested stay tuned. I'll leave it at that.

Robby do a search and you'll find it. Too many chances for drama if I tell ya who made em. PM me if you want to. After these two projects I'm just posting before and after pics no more WIP.
