After a 20-year absence, yours truly decided to get back into kart racing. I visited my local track here in Spokane, WA and met everyone and felt good about it and I bought a used kart back in mid-March and started testing throughout the spring and have run 2 races thus far. It's been quite the learning experience, I've enjoyed myself tremendously. I race in the Senior Briggs & Stratton LO206 class with a 2020 Race Factory Chassis. The grip in the corners is insane compared to what I did 20 years ago.      Here is a video of the first lap from last race two weeks ago... Here is a video I made for the track of the Senior 206 class as I didn't race in the first 3 races of the year (My kart was still all black in this video with the vintage round #71) But I've made a lot of new friends already. I've gotten to know my competition pretty well, too. And yes the white stripes on the new Classic Racing Resins Special are glow in the dark. Lol |

Lol before I started driving again, I knew it was going to be hard. But I didn't realize it was going to be 3x harder than anticipated.
My first day Testing this kart on March 29th I was 8 seconds off the pace. Lol 😵🥴😵💫
After many Testing days and learning kart chassis setup, buying new parts and getting myself in shape I'm now only 1 second off from the leaders, now. Still a lot but I'm getting there.

Especially in a 4-stroke low horsepower class of kart, you have to keep the momentum up and you don't have the extra horsepower to help save you from mistakes. The crazy thing is the chassis and tires are SO good compared to 20 years ago. My low horsepower class of kart is just as fast in lap time to the higher horsepower 2-stroke kart I raced 20 years ago. |

Calvin: You are in good company… I totally agree! Karting is also the purest form of motorsport. I feel very grateful to be able to participate in this sport. So many great memories and wild stories already from this year. 🤣 Plus I get to hang out with cool people. And a good escape from the strange weird outside world 🫣 |

a couple of Saturdays ago I won the last fun race of the year at my local kart track called the turkey race. Its a combination of random of unique races. Like invert and run opposite directions and then a LeMans start, then race on the short oval that is built into the Road Course. But after they counted up all the points, I was declared the winner of the turkey race out of 7 other drivers. This is my first win of any kind in 21 years. Im pretty excited. Ive come a long ways this year. My first drive in this kart I could barely make 5 laps before wearing out and now after 20 test/practice days and 8 races, I made it to the front. I worked very hard on understanding the front geometry and finally figured out the best setup.   |

Congratulations, A win is a win no matter what. Plus your Go Kart looks amazing. My son is a little close to you. He is stationed on the USS Nimitz, Bremeton I also have cousins that live in Seattle and An Aunt that is in Spokane.
