To the shock of everyone in the Unlimited Hydroplane community. A hydroplane enthusiasts spent an insane amount of money to start producing the current Unlimted Hydroplanes in 1/25 scale which is HUGE (Real boats are 30 feet long) -Plastic injection -1/25 scale -Will be available this spring -The teams will be selling their own versions of their boats -The hydro museum will be selling different versions I'll be following up with this news as I know a few guys on here like Hydros I've been chatting with the guy funding this project. These are the only pictures I've seen. To be continued.....

You’ve got my attention Calvin! Paul Erlendson I'll be following up on this story. Never in a million years would I've thought someone would spend that much money on tooling for hydroplane kits. Just shows you its not always about the money at times.

Man how freaking cool is this!! It really is. I live in hydroplane country up here in Washington State. I've seen then run many times, I've touched them, sat in them and I've taken many pictures. I already had plans of going to Testing in late May and the race in July in Tri-cities this year and now I'm even looking more forward to it.

They look cool and go fast, so of course I want one! From looking at these pictures, the shape looks good, overall. To the untrained eye they are all the same, but to the trained eye every single boat has its own characteristics. They are basically fighter jets on water.

This video is a basic definition of a current unlimited Hydroplane going almost 200mph into a turn. It flies! Notice the front canard wing the driver has to control with foot peddles to keep the boat from blowing over and he will put lift in the boat in the turns to try to get the boat out of the water
and I thought H1 Unlimited did a great job on the 2021 Broadcast in Tri-cities (My "Home" track) Gives a good feel of what the racing is like

Maybe some new aftermarket possibilities for Classic Racing Resins?

You never know with me 😂 I'm not going to get ahead of myself before I have one in my hands. Regardless, the kit looks like a great starting point. It would've been impossible to make a new kit for each boat. Only a few geeks like me can see the differences in the sponsons and other parts. A little Apoxie sculpt will do the trick on these small details that no one else even notices.

Just might have to pick one up. It looks INSANELY unstable in that video.

It looks INSANELY unstable in that video. Yes, that was literally on the edge of disaster, which happens a lot with wind gusts or changes in the water

Yes, it's a very unique motorsport, there's really nothing like it. There's already things running through my head, but I need to see the kit in my hands before showing anything.

Calvin: Look what I found… What do you have against Ferrari? Il Commendatore is upset that no one has posted a build of this hydro… Seriously, what a cool thing about new molds! Tim

Any possibility that Classic Racing Resins could be a retailer for these kits?

Calvin: Look what I found… What do you have against Ferrari? Il Commendatore is upset that no one has posted a build of this hydro… Seriously, what a cool thing about new molds! Tim Someone made a "diecast" (built up) Ferrari boat more than decade ago and was selling them on eBay. I use to know a little bit about this boat, it never race over here. I'm honestly more knowledgeable on the big huge American boats with the WW11 aircraft engines. I think the Ferrari was kind of a "one off" deal Like I said I don't know much about it, hardly anyone talks about it in the hydroplane community. OK I just checked and there is still built up ones on ebay. (I hardly search ebay anymore lol) www.ebay.com/itm/284709161493?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=IIgET90aRvu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

On a side note, my favorite boat of all time or should I say the most ferocious boat of all time is the 1979-84 Miss Budweiser. She is one mean girl with the big bomber Rolls-Royce Griffon. I've watched it 3 times run during the vintage race. It's so loud it shakes the earth and if you're in one of those plastic outhouse bathrooms it sharts shaking the bolts of the outhouse door and vibrates the heck out of it. LOL

Jim Im sure it will be possible to make the later Miss Budweiser with the new plastic kit Calvin that is really tempting, but I have so many other projects, I don't have to tell you about that, you know what that's like. I have been selling off a lot of my model collection over the past couple of years, because I am at that age that I have come to the realization I will never build them all like I planned and I didn't want my family stuck with things they know nothing about. It would be neat to see someone here build one, that would be awesome for me! Jim

Can't remember exactly which. Mike

I just found 2 Provence Moulage kits on eBay, but they are actually 1/18 scale. I think I had just assumed 1/43 because that was the scale of the car models PM made. A bit pricey at $400 each. Mike
