Some of you may have seen the new series of 1/24th F1 car models Hachette started last year. These are very high quality news stand models that can be sold VAT free on newstands in Italy only. Good news is you can get most of them on ebay Italy from several sellers. Here is a link to the Hachette 1/24th F1 models website. They also did an even larger 1/43rd collection along with a F1 driver helmet collection produced by Spark in 1/8th scale to go along with the F1 cars. Overall I will say these 1/24th F1 models are as good as alot of plastic kits, so they are worth looking into. Don't say I didn't warn you as they are selling out rather quickly from newstands as supplies are limited. Good luck getting the models you want. www.centauria.it/shop/collezioni/le-grandi-formula-1/?fbclid=IwAR2HOl02_djPRmQtQW0Jssn9gOcIFbQmfUMFixet-3Cr83pI32OgFBMzN0g

Bit late with this but.
I have a good few of these and cannot fault them. The quality is not Wave or MFH but way better than the bBurago or Polistil cars that many may have. Even then Burago's modern range looks pretty good too.
The open engine models like the P34 detail level is very good. The Lotus 79 came with tobacco decals. Sent a March 751 on to a mate in Canada and he is raving about it. And we are starting to see models never before produced at this scale as die cast or kits.
I think they are going to cover most of the World Championship winners. Can think of one person who might make good use of a 1981 Brabham BT49 even if it is at 1/24th.....
Not tried to take one apart to see what is what is terms of mods etc but do not feel the need to.
Do keep an eye on the ever growing inventory. Something may jump out at you. Any vintage F1 machinery ever run at Indy? Must have......

I have the March F1 and it does come apart easily. They use square slot screws that can carefully be taken out by a small screwdriver and pliers. I'm changing the livery to Ronnie Peterson's Swedish flag car. Real quality here and reasonably priced.

Just got the fan Brabham BT46!! Wow! that's nice with my Brabham collection. -Patrick Yes that and the Lotus 79 and 76 312 T2 are maybe the best so far, but they keep getting better with every release. This company Hachette has their heart in it. The owners are from Portugal and are friends with Fernando Pinto of FPPM fame. This collection represents a huge jump in 1/24th F1 for collectors as the quality is high and the ability to super detail these models will allow for an amazing collection. Mike Q would have loved these models. I was trying to get him one of the first releases the P34 before he got sick. RIP Mike.

I just received the 1/24th Hachette Lotus 72. Good lord is it good. They also included the JPS decals you have to apply yourself due to EU law. So I figure this series should be good for around 45 1/24th champions. Maybe Fernando Pinto FPPM will do the rest!! FPPM have already done 9 plus the W196's he is working on. We might be able to do a complete 1/24th F1 Drivers Champion collection soon I also bought an extra Lotus 72 to do the Lucky Strike French GP car. That car did very poorly in Europe that year.

Next releases announced for the 1/24th F1 series. The 1999 Mclaren MP4-14 was already announced as is a Williams FW14 but the release dates have been modified. I kind of thought they might do the non champion Hesketh because of the movie and Jordan due to MS. I hope they do a few more older cars.
41: Hesketh 308B James Hunt 1975Release 42: Mclaren MP4-14 Mika Hakkinen 1999Release 43: Red Bull RB15 Max Verstappen 2019Release 44: Jordan 191 Michael Schumacher 1991

The Tyrrell 006 1973 in 1/24th scale is out and I have it. Let me just say it is their best curbside model yet, even better than the Lotus 78 and BT46B!!

For my part I really do appreciate the heads up on this collection.
Have cherry picked my way through the selection focusing on
mid 70s to mid 80s.
Kinda undecided on the Tyrrell 006 until I read this.
Looking ahead I think the T4 and BT52b on my hit list.
As for the F1 collection. That will be something.
Bet they do not do the 126 C2b though. Plenty of forgotten variants back in time, but this one is usually overlooked.
Just wish they had sold in the UK. Think they missed a big market here. Probably the same with the US and Canada.

Hard to say for the US market but if they continue to put out models that are better than alot of resin 1/24th and 1/20th kiits this series will be hard to ignore. Also 99% of the F1 builders already have a large collection of 1/24th sports and racing car models. At this point with as many cars as they have coming out I don't care that much what the F1 model community does. This 1/24th F1 series will supply years of happiness and there are 10 times more releases from this Hachette 1/24 F1 series than 1/20th F1 kits now being released yearly and the Hachette quality is top.

Fernando from FPPM has made a set of larger 1/24th wire wheels to fit on the Hachette Alfa 158 model and early 1950's F1 cars. Should also work on the Ferrari 375 F1 better.
By the way, I have the Brawn BGP 001 2009 and it's another great one. They do seem to make some cars better than others for some reason. I did not love the F2004 and F2007 Ferrari models that great, although the wheels on the F2007 are much better than Revell could do. Both the F2007 and F2004 will require some rework, but still very good starting points. The Brawn requires only small details added as it is so nice already. I do prefer older pre 1995 cars over the post 2000 cars. I downright hate the 2010-2021 cars, but now the 2022 cars look and sound much better.

We just hit the halfway point at number 40 for the two series of 1/24th F1 model subscriptions. The quality keeps getting better and better. This week the 1/24th Matra MS80 from 1969. I already have the FPPM kit in 1/24th scale but this Hachette model has some things I like better and some things I like less. We also have the Ferrari F1 and Lemans winners 1/24th Hachette collections still coming for next year if rumors are true. Top quality diecasts and good starting points for great models. www.automodellando.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23557&whichpage=62

Hachette has now announced they will release the 1/24th F1 newstand collection as the IXO F1 1/24th series for the world. The first 3 are out, the Tyrell P34 Belgium 1977, Mclaren M23 Canada 1976 and Lotus 72 British GP. This should make them easier to get. We are up to number 42 of 80 planned so far with the 1/24th Ferrari F1 series also coming in 2023. Hachette also makes Bellkits, and these are much like those kits in detail, but curbside and assembled with tobacco sponsors included. www.facebook.com/ixomodels

I have the 3 IXO 1/24th F1 models and I think they are slightly better than the newstand models. They have a much better display case included and the Lotus 72 has double gold ring Firestone tires, the Hachette newstand had single gold rings. From pictures I found they ran both styles in 1972, and on some races no rings on the inside tires just like the IXO model. Amazing quality for the money, a gift from Hachette to F1 collectors.

More information. They have confirmed the Ferrari 1/24th F1 collection starting in December 2022!!! This is the second series of F1 in 1/24th offered by Hachette IXO. I expect to see IXO also release some of these under their new 1/24th F1 line. Can't wait for the 1/24th Lemans winner collection to start also. fb.watch/h1zXn5XZYl/

Not related to Hachette but still pretty good. Welly's NEX has done a cheap curbside diecast of the Mercedes W125 in 1/24th scale. They are all over ebay. Use FPPM wire wheels and tires and it will be a respectable model, better shape than the old 1/24th Western model. If you want a new full blown full detail model you can also get the FPPM W125 coming soon from Fernando Pinto.

I try to detail mine to make them even better. I just received the BT52B and it is really well done, almost plastic model quality. They even opened up the vents on the rear engine body cover, but I think the front tires are too big so I will change them. IXO Hachette does some amazing diecasts!! By the way, the 1/24th Hachette Ferrari F1 collection started this week on the newstands of Italy. 60 Ferrari F1 models

LOL.
Picked up the Scheckter T4 from the established series and changed it into the Villeneuve version.
Again appreciate the heads up on this and see they will do the Villeneuve version in this new all Ferrari series.
Better start saving!
So annoyed the company does not see that they would sell like mad if released in the UK. Both 1/24th series.

Wow is this latest Hachette 1/24 F1 Alfa 177 nice!! Not my favorite Alfa F1 version, I like the 179 alot better but they really put alot of detail in this model. Maybe the best yet? We have about 15 top contenders now. The top 10 IMO best Hachette F1 1/24th models so far.... These are all as good or better than any curbside plastic kits I have seen. Look at the crisp details. And those lucky collectors in Italy pay 30 Euro with no tax from the newstand!! Lotus 79 1978 Brabhan BT46B Alfa 177 Tyrrell 005 Lotus 72 Braun 2009 Williams FW08 Brabham BT52B Hesketh 308B Ferrari 312 1976 I see a trend that maybe Hachette likes 1970's and 1980's cars best. www.automodellando.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23557&whichpage=70
