Dan, EXCELLENT! I spent so many hours in this car with Briggs, it was an amazing car for the time period. I was impressed by the actual cars interior which was aluminum panels all around and tons of rivets not only in the interior but on the body. Briggs was quite proud of this car , his stories of driving it at LeMans were insane and he captured my young attention for hours every week or so we spent time in it. Great project I cant wait to see the finished car. Chris

Looking great! In such projects, seeing many photos of the real car is a must to capture all the shapes. And the trial and error method as well LOL

Like you, I’ve been wondering how’s he going to do the nose. Carve from wood, 3d print, ask Calvin to make it? Nah! Start with styrene go with styrene. These parts. To this To this

Dan: I can see the ghost of Briggs Cunningham saying “Damn! There’s more scratch building in this than the real one!” Tim
PS: Keep it up; it looks great!

Kevin, You know I like kits- I’ve built and shared WIPs of many of yours. Scratch building is also great fun and I think that doing both helps both. In other words, solving some of problems with some kits is easier due to having to solve scratch problems and vice versa. I built a kit of a sports car (not yours) that had many issues but it’s on the shelf, and I think isn’t half bad. I feel I’ve got enough experience that I’m happy to tackle any sort of build. I told my kids and now grandkids that the secret to good safe driving is seat time. Same is true here. The more you do, the better you get. Like you I would like to see more scratch work.

Ditto Dan....I think there's a lot of folks that do their own fabwork on their builds but don't want to take the time and effort to take the pics and then post them. So...it's the few that enjoy that sort of thing that's really cool...like you for instance. There are some mighty fine scratch builders on this forum, and right now a lot of them are taking a break....except you...and that's great!

I really enjoy the iterative process of doing some and looking at it then doing more to get it closer to the goal. Keep it up, great job so far!

Windshield frames. As angle section notched And shaped around apiece of metal And liquid glued to thin styrene sheet. Metal form is used so glue won’t stick yo it And ready for trimming and insertion of clear stuff

This has been fun to follow along with and it’s looking great! I could never attempt this level of scratch building but I love watching it come together.

Final stage: parts collected- rear interior panel, headlights, exhausts windscreens. Last of the riveting and scribing done. Final smoothing and painting soon. EXCEPT company and festivities may complicate the plan Happy and Merry!
