..... That should keep those fighters off our backs!
Another lock down here in the UK. Another one for this thread.
Maybe shoulda gone in the misc section.
Star Wars battle of the Death Star.
Just a short sojourn from the pile of race car kits I have to get thru.
I know some of you have the odd kit knocking about from a Galaxy far far away so thought I would chuck this in.
It was all done using all the bitz I had lying around.
We all have our piles of kits and I got all the star wars stuff out and decided on this.
Red 5 leads Red 2 and 3 towards the trench of the Death Star.
Tower from ebay that came with a 1/48th Tie fighter for wargaming scenery.
Spare Bandai death star tiles and three Revell 1/122 X Wing kits.
Lots of kit bashing to get the scenery finished and all on an IKEA shelf for one of their popular book case units.
I went all in on looking up reference just as we all do with our race car models.
Annoyingly, having watched the attack on the death star over and over,
I realised that our young Jedi hero used three different liveried X Wings before during and after the battle!
I settled on the Fine Molds kit guide for the differences on these fighters even if these little things are not entirely accurate
compared to the Bandai or Fine Molds 1/72 kits.
Kept the surface a tad darker than maybe it should be to let the X wings stand out a bit and lined them up with the
lines of the surface to try and get that feeling of movement and speed.
Got a load of stuff sitting around at 1/72 and 1/144 scale and have ideas on what to do with them.
Death Star 2 scene (Return of the Jedi) and maybe a Scarif shield gate scene (Rogue One).
Plotting 2022 trip to Daytona 24 hours and then a certain Disney facility in Orlando.......
Surely we will be out of it by then......
Keep well. Stay safe. Regards to all.
