Fellas. This ain't being all flash about what I have. Its about appreciating the inspiration and ability to execute certain projects thanks to this forum and a thanks to those who produce the elements and the encouragement given by the many skilled artisans on here. Slightly grovely but none the less true. I got a big kick up the proverbial from being on this forum. So glad of it and I ain't finished yet......
These are the 1/43rds. Just finished the Tameo PC17. The 3D printed 92 Galmer is done. The 93 Lola and the 95 Reynard too as well as the PC19. And I have had a blast doing four of these in 1/25th too. Starting nights so going for a PC15 mash up to add to this squad. Will look at 1984 and 1982 in due course.
Have to buy you lot a pint one day......

This looks excellent. Great bunch of models you've put together. Can't wait to see the others you mentioned. I don't see this as boasting. Not at all. Personally, I enjoy seeing collections that others create. It's not always the one model, but the group that comes together over time with a lot of work. Thanks for posting.

It is like an I love the 80s IndyCar feast!!
What are all of these? My guess is Top LtoR 85C, 86C, PC17, PC18 then bottom LtoR 2x 85Cs, 2x 86C
What a fleet of beautiful IndyCars. Thank you for sharing.

LOL.
Indy mate. Probably needed to do a better job on it. Top left is my attempt at the PC16..
Started on the PC15 mash and hopefully will add to the Miller collection with two versions of the Miller 84c.
Bet you lads have some astounding collections in all scales. Would love to see those.
Guessing there is allot of yellow on Indy's shelf......

Sorry, I was looking on my phone and I see where I mistook the Penske. No offense, thanks for sharing. Hoping there are more builds in the queue for you.

Well it is very nice to read the compliments but a couple of you on here kinda made it possible. Being bitten by an unusually large bug did the rest.
Despite my missing Le Mans 66 preview the week of nights wasn't a total loss.
Trying to do a PC15. Kinda getting there.
The one quandary I am having is that the Hertz or Pennzoil schemes show off the lines of the car better than the Miller car. But then it is in essence a Sullivan collection and would be a Miami 86 early retirement one off. Mears and Unser did so many miles in this thing I almost feel like I should acknowledge that. Bit of work to do yet then I will decide.

Wow-wow-wow!!! I've always been a fan of the Penske stable, and you have captured some of my favorite cars. Great job!!! Don't forget this seldom see Unser car, that was mostly seen on the PC-12. It'll fit right into your Miller theme. These are the only images I could find.

I have some pictures of the Penske PC11 from 1983 (none from 1984 of this PC12 car) if you need them. Probably 20-25 of various degrees of helpfulness, if you want to go down that rabbit hole... Speaking of rabbit holes, this one is an interesting collection of the PCs over the years en.wheelsage.org/penske/cars/Here is a PC12 from Google Jordan

Chaps.
Thank you.
I have seen these two cars and I did start thinking why not, but one step at a time I guess.
The Unser Miller car definitely caught my attention.
Need to gen up a bit more on that early 80s period.
PC12 was 1984? And they ran March 84c cars as well?
PC11 was 1983? Did they run March cars as well then?
I use the phrase from Babylon 5 'there is a hole in your mind'. A gap in my education I intend to bridge.....

Yeah, my bad! The Unser Miller car I posted is a PC-12, not the 11 as I stated. Thanks for pointing that out. I have changed my post.

No problem and hope my post was not taken the wrong way, Fastlap. The PC11 and PC12 always seemed like evolutions of the PC10 so they are hard for me to visually ID. I had to look at all my 1983 pics before I thought that could be a PC12..
Quattro, the PC12 lasted only two races. Penske bought Marches for the 500 and (best I can tell) the PC12 never ran again.

Loving the history lesson.
So if I have this right Penske, for such a successful outfit, could not get anything they built themselves working right from the PC11 until they fielded the PC17.....
From digging around myself I understand that the PC11 was side lined for the older PC10b halfway thru 1983?
This could just go on and on but kinda curious to know what else they were doing to go from PC12 to PC15. Presumably 13 and 14 were other projects.
I know its all probably old hat to you lads but I can't get enough of this.
Cheers.

Jordan Jordan, No problem. This is all good. I forgot all about the PC-12. I remember the "11" for what(?), the half season it ran and then back to the Pc-10B. The Miller photo I post of Al sr. car is listed as the PC-12, but thought it to be a PC-11. So all is good in my little corner of the Indy car world. My motto is; "All Penske, all the time!" (Note; my fav indy car is the PC-10!!!) Gary .

Tacking on here rather than starting something new.
My go at a Penske PC 15 (Miami 1986) next to my PC 16 (Long Beach 87).
Sure they are not spot on. Mil out here and there.
Cheers Jordan for throwing those images my way and for posting those vids on the forum so that I could see this thing.
One annoyance. Same Paint different Can....... Did not see that til they were together.
Think the Hertz or Pennzoil colours would be better for showing off the differences in form. Miller scheme tends to make everything look the same.
Could not see anyone doing these in any scale so went for it. The only thing the PC15 won was the Indy pitstop challenge and that was the lads tending it really.
Got a couple of 84c kit ready to go on the theme. Just discovered the other 85C Miller car that was never qualified. Will look out for a decent starting point for a go at a pC12 in time.
Got some Sullivan Formula Atlantics and a Formula Pacific to get on with too.

Joe, I was looking through a 1987 Pennzoil Penske presskit that I have and the extended gold stripes on this Miller car caught my eye! I could not tell (thanks to Photobucket) if you had seen this one before so I am sharing it just in case... HTH Jordan

Cheers mate!
UMM. Kinda tempting. Do not have the regular 85c Miller livery in road course config. I did the 85 Long Beach kinda left over from 84 livery. Saw the Ribbs aborted Indy inverse livery had the stripes on it. Food for thought.
Additional for all you 1/43rd builders. SMTS have just released a run of March 86Cs from Cogan and Ongais to Mears and Fittipaldi. 86 and 87 versions. All for getting my stuff from Ampersand where possible given his attention to detail with the regular and Penske variations (Bo, hope all well in Denmark mate), but these new kits do look nice.
