Really enjoyed watching this impressive build! Is there a miniature bottle of champagne and tiny dignitaries involved in the launch of such a ship? At least a full sized bottle for yourself! Again, a real beauty... --Frank

Please do share, I have the conversion kit also, thanks to Duane. I'm so wanting to build the 63 and 64 winners but I can't get the courage up to do the paint jobs. Getting the blue on Parnelli's car and the red on AJ's car to line up with the decals scares me to death. I'm sure you'll do a fine job, I'm looking forward to it.

Just sit down and study the layout, then set aside an hour for just masking and it will be done.

The USS Olympia was launched on Oct 5th, 1892, and I wondered if you ever finished the model? Some how, I missed the finish! Let me add, though a few months late, to the accolades: very nice build, and a super WIP! Enjoyed it. Did you have a part today to celebrate USS Olympia day? --Frank

You know what? Reviewing the WIP, and the end posts, I see that I did remark on the finished model! Apparently that fall and crainial landing I took in July took away a lot more memory than I thought I recalled! So, never mind! Happy USS Olympia day... --Frank

lol, thank again in that case! I am working on a couple of resin ship models. The USS Hoga a fleet tug that was at Pearl Harbor and the USS Winslow TB-5 from 1898.

that's alright frank, at least you have an excuse. for the rest of us it's just old age. (i'm starting to sound like craig!) i do like that we review an old post and an impressive build like this though. duane

Great modeling, thanks for sharing it! Looks like it took lots of time with all of the PE and rigging.
