...and Goshen is just a ghost now. Good times there long ago. Florida is a race fan's dream. If no one is racing, you can always drive down the road to Sebring. Someone is usually practicing there! Club days on the weekends. Skip Barbour any time.

Hmm, I had occasion last night to see a commercial for ABC's 2004 40 Years of Indy 500 DVD. There's a quick flash of Gary Bettenhausen's #7 Penske McLaren smoking from 1972. Then the DVD itself completely skips 1972.
What happened to that race tape ?!?! hahaha
So I have a crude Havoc-esque crash tape that shows Mosley's crash from ABC (and apparently it's on YouTube as well):
1991? showed a brief clip of Gary coasting in and this must be slightly earlier, before the engine has expelled all of its gaseous contents
so in total there's about 10 seconds of the broadcast.

I always wonder what is up with the ABC 1972 broadcast as well....hope they didn't screw it up!

I was referring to Goshen, Oregon. The main straight was downhill, so the cars would really haul into turn one! Here's a little known fact: "Skip Barbour" was too long to paint on the car hauler, so they changed the name to "Skip Barber" to make it fit. Really--it could have happened!

I just survived the most crazy storm I've ever personally been through! It happen about 4 o clock this afternoon. High winds, lighting, heavy rain......knocked over 5 of our 100 year old 130+ ft ponderosa pine trees.....2 of then smashed the dog fence.....i was out side when the winds came as I was trying prep before the storm hit.....trees were falling as I ran for safety. ....it really was bad. The power is out but lucky I have my cell phone to stay in touch with you guys....from I hear about 10k are without power around our place.....one guy just down the road got killed when a tree landed on his car.....which polly explanation all of the sirens I heard......but I think we lucked out as I some other people are worse off right now.....i think our power will be out for a good long while as I still see a tree on top of the power lines down the road from here.

I don't know how people in the Midwest deal with all those crazy storms....this was minor one compare to a lot of those....but guess there is no such thing is huge pine trees in the mid west.

Glad you are safe, Calvin. In the end, property damages pale in comparison to human damages.

Yes, crazy weather here in the Northwest. Tuesday night in the Boise area we had over 2700 lightning strikes. It was quite the show, but we paid the price with a number of new wild fires.

another strange thing about our "little wind storm" was some of the trees bent so much during the big wind that some of the bark broke off at the middle part of the tree where they bent over.
Some locals say it was a tornado, but that's not true as the trees all blew over in the same direction.

Some locals say it was a tornado, but that's not true as the trees all blew over in the same direction. That type of event is called a Derecho. These are straight line winds that are associated with Severe Thunderstorms. Here is a fairly technical description of the storm done by one of our forecasters cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/goes/blog/archives/16215Rusty

Also about 10 miles away the storm found a trailer park...and thats all I have to say....it complete destroyed that park with fallen trees. Well the local news did an update on the trailer park up the road from me (or to make sound farther away - a number of miles up the road).....all I can say is its worth watching this video. LOL! and NO were I live is not like this. This is "up north" as we say around here. www.krem.com/news/Emotions-boil-over-in-Chattaroy-neighborhood-destroyed-by-windstorm--269468181.html

I can't believe it we just had another storm that came through and knocked the power out again....this storm wasn't nearly as bad but I'm pretty sure a tree got blown up by a lighting strike in our back property. ...it sounded really bad.....then something was on fire northeast of us......more destruction. Too much lightning to go looking right now and too much rain.....and wind.

We just took a little drive up the highway and about 5 miles north it must be big fire going as smoke is very heavy and cars are everywhere like they are evacuating. ..and a non stop flow of fire trucks are heading that direction.....not a good time to live within the trees.... we also drove into town and absolutely no power is on....and people are driving crazy....especially with no stop lights.

I'm starting to think living within trees is a bad thing! I'm started to get a phobia about them wanting fall over or catch fire and kill you! But finally the power is back on once again.....almost 40K people over here without power - more trees down on lines. More fires More damage More work! The thing about last nights storm is it was not even half of the one last week but since everything was so weak already it just kinda finished off everything else. The big boom I heard yesterday was actually a tree that fell on our wood shed. It just snapped at the center. Then the lightning started to catch trees on fire in the area. You could actually hear these strange explosions in the area that sound like wood blowing up....maybe lighting hitting trees - I dont know for sure.... The smoke got very bad. Then I tried to get a pic of the constant Lightning show last night which was orange from all the smoke in the air.....this is my first attempt at trying to get a lightning shot.

The place I buy my resin from has come out with stuff to put in your resin to make it glow in the dark.....I'm thinking about adding it into my kits so when you are laying in bed at night all my unbuilt resin kits that you bought will be glowing at you....and that glow wont go away until you paint them and build them.

If all my unbuilt kits had that stuff in them, I would not need any lights in the house. That's why my kits would turn into investments - saves on electricity bills.

Its such a stupid design, thats why I want it! I love that air box. When people complain about the air boxes on the current cars, I always bring that out and say 'now THAT'S an air box!" As the cars streaked by beyond the armco and walls at the LBGP, you could always spot the Ligier. MJ

Another storm is coming in on my place again - I sure hope it doesn't do the same thing like the past two other times!!!!!!!!! Knock trees over, knock power out! For crying out loud! As I type the wind is picking up fast! I was wanting to get my instruction sheet done for the DW12!
