First Danica wins the pole at Daytona. Then hey, whaddaya know, then 3 car wins the pole. Could Disney have written a better feel good story. They're starting to insult my intelligence, what little I have.

I think instead of making a music video out of my WIP, I might do a Soap opera!

Today I learned that an Alfa BAT 7 was raced in Palm Springs circa 1955! Amazing car.

Replicarz is re-releasing the Marmon Wasp to be more period appropriate; white Firestones, lowered stinger, revised graphics, and... a more orangish hue, which is pretty bold! Oh no Steven! You might have started another color debate marathon! Hope Michael P. doesn't see this! Hey Craig, go and hide under your bed. (Craig doesn't like color debates)

A good mail day on Thursday I say so! What are your plains for them? All Mears, one of each, or something else? Never was a Bill Alsup fan.... I ordered two of Rick and one Bobby car. 1981 was Rick's worst Indy 500 that he ran, his only qualifying outside of the Top 10 (save '78's DNQ) and the awful pit fire that resulted in his career worst finish (30th). But he was the 1981 CART Champ with 6 wins in 11 rounds and he only raced 10 of those after missing Milwaukee due to the recovery from the burns received at Indy. Would be nice to do the 2nd Mears car in an interesting config to commemorate the championship season. Jordan

I don't really mind the color debates, Calvin. I enjoy any debate, as long as it stays civil, I just find them rather pointless. In many cases nobody really knows the correct color. We are dealing with photos decades old, all cameras, lens, and film see colors differently. Then we have the problem with old films which change over time. Case in point, when my Eagle is done, I will build my Packard Cable Miller FWD. The car is purple and yellow and was restored 50+ years ago. Look online and every photo shows a different color. Pick one you like, and then try to find that exact color paint, it's almost impossible. Do your research and pick your color. You guys are the only ones who see my builds anyway, and every monitor shows colors a little differently. As long as you are happy with the color that's all that really counts. Calvin likes to hassle me, so I need to give some back, once in a while. Take Care

Miss Spokane was on display today up the road! We dont get to see hardcore racing machinery to often around here so when we do its pretty exciting.....well to me it is. I really, really, hope I'm well enough to make it to the Coeur D'Alene Diamond Cup this labor day weekend....especially since I have a telephoto lens for my camera now I could really get some good shots (Hopefully?)

Goodness, is that a jet engine on that thing??!! Yep they all run the Lycoming T55 turbines used on the Chinook Helicopter which on the boats can produce about 3,000 horsepower. Also, they dont use the trust of the of exhaust, but the output of the engine is hood to a gearbox then transferred to the propeller. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lycoming_T55www.h1unlimited.com/hydros-101/

An osprey helicopter flew over the house just a few mins ago..... I heard it coming and I hurried and grabbed the camera and before I knew it was gone - it was flying so low that it was too close for my lens. I just barely got the camera on.....I guess it was good practice for me under a time crunch. I wish it would have come back by so I could have positioned myself in a better location. Boy was it loud - I'd have to say it was no higher than 300 ft as our Pine trees are 150 ft tall and it looked like it was barely clearing them.

That's a rare bird in your part of the country, Calvin. The regular habitat is New Mexico, or the Florida panhandle. I'm assuming it's an Air Force version ( the Marines also fly them). Did you have an Air Show over the weekend?

Did you have an Air Show over the weekend? Yeah I just found out we did. That explains a lot. The Air Force base is 20 miles from my place.

I really, really, hope I'm well enough to make it to the Coeur D'Alene Diamond Cup this labor day weekend....especially since I have a telephoto lens for my camera now I could really get some good shots (Hopefully?) Well it looks like the Diamond Cup hydroplane race on lake Coeur D'Alene (just right down the road from me) wont be happening as the board couldn't pay off last years debt or come up with the funding for this years event. Along with all the crazy environmental extremists (AKA race fans worst enemy)coming up with silly things to try to block the event. I was trying to make it a goal to get healthy enough to go....I haven't been to major motorsport event for a very long time. I love the Northwest but it sure sucks when it comes to Motorsports! THERE's almost absolute NOTHING! Just Hydroplane racing. No more Indycars at Portland. NO more AHRA Drag racing at Spokane (World Finals) They have a Nascar West race in Seattle but that's about it.....What a joke! Sorry I'm kinda throwing a little fit right now. You Midwesterners should be thankful.

There's no such thing as too much Arctic Monkeys' "Do I Wanna Know" in 2014. And chromehorn08 just won Simon's P1 flag, so he's digging Schmidt Petersen as well! And Sony Vegas color corrections bring an HP laptop to a crawl. 24 hours to process a DVD of 1999 Phoenix
