Except it has no " screen". No cooling ducts. But it does have the inside stones. I am a bit disappointed it dosnt have the screen, but then again that gives the masters here a chance to improvise. No cooling ducts is a different problem. But the talent here will over come. Yes, i stole the pic from Toronto Motorsports. Perhaps some mods will change before production, but i sort of have doubts. Anyway hope this atleast gives you folks some idea.

It may be just the prototype. I can't see them leaving the windscreen out but if they do I will find a way. I am not a fan of the halo myself. I am all for safety but to me it's hideous. I do hope the tire markings are on both sides of the tires again like in the photo. Correct or not you will probably be able to use part of them. We will see.

I hear you on the look. Its not my favorite thing but i am for the driver's safety. I think it will slow them a bit at Indy, but we shall see. I dont think it will be alot, but i think they will slow a bit. Then again they may do something to counter it.
You finding a way around it? Does the sun rise in the east? Superman will get past it. I have faith, as i do others here will over come it. I have an idea but i dont know how well it will work. I was working on a solution to Pagenauds front wing extensions that is looking like it wont work. So back to the drawing board so to speak. Some of the talent here will over come it. No question of if, just when. On looking more at it, its kinda hard to see, but it may have some ducting for the canopy. Being all white it kind of fuzzes up the pic. They have a list of cars they are doing. The Penskes. Some Andretti autosport and a Coyne car are included. I think the list will grow.

Conor said he will have 2 die casts, the full season #20 and Indy only car which the number has not been revealed yet but is supposed to be significant. I am sure the McLarens, Gamassis, etc will be added.
I am sure we can figure out a good 2019 wing mod solution for all scales, feel free to post it up for comment.

To me I think the halo will cause more wrecks. The drivers may feel more of a sense of security and make moves they might not normally make thinking they are safe. It's still open wheel after all so that danger is still there. This is just a theory.

I hadn't thought of that. I hope your wrong, for obvious reasons. I would like to think the vets wont do that, but potentially a rookie might. Its a fair thought Stu. See what happens. Thanks for the Conor update Jordan. That's good news. Seeing an Indiana man make it in Indycar is always good. I like Conor for his attitude. Guy has it right. On a side note, its fun to see those Air force sponsored cars run.

The teams won't have their aeroscreens until Jan 7th. Maybe GL is on the same schedule lol

Andretti was installing the brackets for the aeroscreens on their tubs when I was in their race shop three weeks ago. Didn't see the screen though.

What about tear offs? During a race if the driver has difficulty seeing, he rips off a tear off from his visor. I imagine this will have to now wait until the driver pits and one of the crew members removes it? This may cause premature pit stops but I bet if a guy is leading he won't choose to come in. Racing risk vs. reward...
I was devastated when we lost Justin Wilson and Jules Bianchi but both were freak accidents. You can say I am not a fan.
Can someone chime in a change my mind?

I don't know that i want to change your mind. You bring up a valid point Stu. I understand the screen will have tear offs and as you noted won't come off until a pit stop.Indeed risk vs. reward. I can easily see this scenario happening. I see good and bad points to it. You mentioned two names and i can think of another scenario with a Mr Felipe Massa. A screen would have given him a much better chance. That spring got him and essentially ended his career. Is it perfect. Nothing ever is. Is there risk vs reward? That happens alot in racing. I'll say this. I can see two sides to the coin. I'm willing to see how it plays out. As i noted above, i'm not in love with the look at all. But if it saves one driver from a life altering/ threatining situation, i can see it winning the arguement so to speak. Could it factor into race strategy? You betch'a. I do like the added safety from flying debris. Massa. Bianchi. Wilson. In Weldons and Wickys case, i dont see it being a cure all. I guess we will just have to wait and see how it plays out. Drop the linen.

Another man over the wall, with a squeegee and water bottle? Looks a little like NASCAR creep to me

I just saw pix of the new screen installed on Scott Dixon's car. I have to say it looks better than the GL prototype. Hopefully, they'll make some changes. Looks like the screen will have tear-offs in pairs, one on each side of the support. Should make for some interesting pit stops.

Perhaps this will answer some questions. I watched it and it had some interesting points. I know Stu had some apprehension, so maybe this will aleviate at least a few of those. Perhaps it will help others as well. They admit it's not 100% tested out yet, but they are working on it. Stu mentioned about feeling safer. Will admits that is present. Any way i hope it helps a few with where it's at.
