I've got a 1/18th scale Carousel 1966 Eagle Indy car. I've always liked the looks of the car in qualifying form more than race day with the side tank. Has anyone taken one of the cars apart? I'd like to know how difficult it would be to get the tank off and how many holes there are in the body holding the tank in place.

Stu is your guy on that... Unfortunately he’s not on this one. Believe it or not, but he’s never taken one of these apart. He does think that it comes apart similarly to the Lotus 38. I just hoped on the off chance that someone here had seen what it looks like under the tank. Paul Erlendson

The side tank is molded plastic and has two stems that protrude inward. Two holes are in the body that the stems travel through. The plastic stem ends were then melted to keep the tank tight against the side of the body. Technically you could use a Dremel and cut the side tank away instead of taking the whole car apart. Repair the holes and touch them up and re-decal. The car I took apart was factory painted under the plastic tank. Stu
