Hello, I'm new to the site and been out of model building quite a few years. The last Indy car model I built was in the mid 70's - Johnny Rutherford's car. My question is does anyone know if anyone makes resin seats that could be used in the 1/25th Scale Monogram Indy cars? The cockpit is just an open tub unless you use the driver figure. I am about to attempt to build the Monogram Quaker State Porsche March of Teo Fabi. Can anyone tell me anything about this kit?
Thanks, groundeffect06

Welcome,
I popped my kit open and I see what you mean. My suggestion would be to paint the "interior" (part 19) a metallic color (or black since it won't be all that visible when it's finished). Then use black flocking in the areas where the seat would actually be. Since the Monogram kits are 1/24th scale you wouldn't be able to transplant an AMT seat in there. Those kits are 1/25th scale. As far as I know there aren't any resin parts for the Monogram kits.
Good luck with your build,
G (stands for Greg ;D)

A proper seat can be found in the Monogram Oldsmobile Aerotech kit. Both the real car and the kit were based on the March chassis. I know that this is a rare kit, but there is one on EBay right now. Someone could do nicely making copies of that seat.

Does anyone out there have an extra 1/25 scale March 88 seat in their spares box they would be willing to part with at a resonable price? I am gonna try to modify it to fit the Monogram March 88 I am working on.
Tthanks, John
