This has been a crazy off-season. Hinch dropped by SPAM, Roger buys IMS/IndyCar, and now SeaBass gets dropped by Coyne today.
What is going on?
Hoping Seabass can get a seat and hopefully a good one.

It has been reported that Honda pulled its additional funding to Coyne because Bourdais did not earn any manufacturer's points during the past season which was enough to tip the scale. It was said that the team was told during the last test which was about three weeks ago. SeaBass clearly used the time to get the IMSA seat which is probably a good move for him. I hate to see him go but this is today's reality in IndyCar. If you read Racer.com, there is an article about Jim Guthrie's early IRL win at Phoenix being made possible by the prize money from his 6th place finish at Disney World. I believe the amount mentioned was $63,000. If that were so and is compared to today's payouts, you can see the small margins these smaller teams are working with. I do hope that IndyCar under Penske can begin to find more sponsorship as a way to increase the purses. It will help keep those currently involved and build a floor for those trying to get in. I am afraid, however, that it may become a more closed entity with the discussion of franchises and guaranteed starting spots at Indy. Jim

Concerning Hinch and Seabass: are they past their prime? No upside in the future?
Well a personal story...I have never been a Sato fan...he was an F1 wannabe/ castoff...he wrecked a sh*tpot load of cars...he was kind of an a**hole...he was past his prime a few years ago!
He now has an Indy 500 win...almost had another but crashed going for first...won 2 races last year with Rahal (WTF!)...4 podiums...
If I had the money, I’d start my own team; hire Seabass or Hinch and give them whatever they need...in a few years, I’d let you guys hold my “baby Borg” at the Memorabilia Show!
