Nice job Tom! One of my favorite all time Mario cars. And my all time favorite “what if” cars.

Wow! That looks like a Tamiya kit... And you even did it with one of my original Wildcats. My very first resin kit I had absolutely no idea what I was doing on.
That's incredible.

Love it Tom! Looks great to me!
As the story goes, Mario was a master at picking the right tires for stagger. He personally measured each tires diameter because the bias ply tires of the day were not always the same diameter. Mario would pick the highest diameter tires and have them put on the outside (or right side) of the car. Mario had a special set he wanted to use for the last stint but as we all know didn't get the chance to use them. Instead, Gordy ended up using Mario's last set but put them on too early. Gordy said the tires were a dream but as the laps wound down they clearly started wearing and losing grip. Hence Rick Mears catching him at an alarming rate. We all know the rest of the story.

Thanks guys.
Interesting tire story re: Mario. Related to the stagger issue, I've heard that the Wood brothers brought the knowledge of stagger to Indy when they came to work the pits for Lotus in 1965. Supposedly gave Lotus a significant advantage. Hard to imagine that stagger wasn't common knowledge for years before that, but that's what the story is. I believe I heard it on Donald Davidson's Talk of Gasoline Alley, not sure though...

Well done Tom! I’ve seen this model in person and yes, the photos don’t do it justice.
