You have to start somewhere- mock-up for a build of a car that ran in a Vanderbilt Cup support race in Savannah in 1911

That is a lot of scratch building for a "kit". Great work so far and thanks for showing us the in progress picture. This is very interesting to see being built.

The "kit" was designed to represent an E-M-F racer, but doesn't look like any car I've seen photos of. I'm using the parts and blueprints for basic dimensions and adding whatever modifications I can to make it more like an actual vehicle. Fun work so far...

I'm sure you'll work some magic on it. Good luck!

Major difference between kit as planned is the car I'm trying yo replicate ran with an open hood where the exhaust exited. Had to fill the space with something resembling an engine- here are the results so far.

Just getting started on the seat. Basic shape comes from balsa bottom and Bristol board back. I'm trying wood filler for the cushions- scoring upholstery patterns as it begins to set up. Will do finish sanding and shaping once it dries.

Thanks! I enjoy the materials and low-key nature of the process- very much trial and error.

Roughing in the exhaust header with the usual materials- wood, metal, plastic and cardboard

Astonishing work with mixed stuff... and more, an unusual subject
You should only take better focused photos, in order to let us appreciate your job...

More work on wheels- white tires, blue rims, white pinstripes on spokes

Pinstripe rims, wow - that sounds tedious. Nice work on it though.

it will all take time- hoping to avoid redoing as many things as possible.
