Sorry chaps but what was that?
Shocker!
I ain't as genned up as most of you fellas on this racing, and I know its has happened before. And we all remember Pocono last year. But really. Thoughts were with Robert as the race started and just wanted them to stay clean for a while.
They are competitive by nature but surely a bit of care comes into it too?
I have to admit it shook me for a bit and then I just felt angry once I knew they were all OK. Not often had that watching racing......
Hope the 17 left take things on board and we don't get another incident early on the restart.....

That was disapointing, grateful every one was ok. They mentioned Sato will get fined. I think he thought he was clear- and wasn't. Sato knows you cant win it on the first lap. Atleast he should. Maybe its for the best Indycar may not go back. I hate to lose another oval. On to Gateway. Nite races are always cool.

That mistake by Sato could have happened on any racetrack.

Looks like Rossi put a little right input in the steering as RHR came up on his left. I think all three were cutting it pretty close for lap 1. I am also frustrated that it seems like no one talked through taking it easy at the start. I did like Dixon's comments during the red flag that were supportive of Pocono, it was good to have that opposing view at that point.
I thought the race was pretty good. The undercut looked like the right move time and time again. It was an amazing drive from Power. His coming from the back should be a warning to all of those that were too eager to lift and give space on Lap 1.
I was shocked WP was able to stop later and then pass Dixon for the lead. He was on it from the beginning and it was great to see his win streak able to continue through 2019.
I am excited for Gateway!!

I ain't gonna say don't go back to Pocono. I ain't gonna blame Sato entirely.
Maybe I should check myself and not get so excited and emotionally invested. Guess that is passion for the sport for you.
Hunter Rey did put a squeeze on Rossi but Sato had the overview of what was happening on his left as he came up from behind and made no allowance. Almost looked like he was already sizing up to go behind or inside Dixon and forgot about where he was in relation to the other two.
I would not like it if another oval is dropped. And I do not think this is enuf to do it even given some reactions.
The sport needs big ovals, little ovals, the amazing road courses you have over there and street races. That is what makes it such an amazing series.
If anything, don't drop races from the calendar. Add a few events. Get back to some of the old favourites.
I just want them to play hard, play clean and come home safe.

i say more Rossi & Hunter Reay that Sato.
Sato had the big run and had the correct line going into the turn. he was not turning left when first contact was made.
Rossi had a (expletive deleted) start and was side drafting to try and stall the momentum of RHR on the inside.
RHR had the worst line going into turn 2. He dropped low because he had a huge run out of 1 when he got to Rossi. Rossi then side drafted him and took some of the momentum he had. at that point RHR had to crowd up to make the apex with the speed he had. Rossi in turn moved up and my guess did not expect Sato to have such a mega run and the rest is history.
Dont blame the race track.
