Some of you may remember that over a year ago I sent Gary Doucette two dirt champ car bodies. One was the Unser's Johnny Lightning #2 and the other was Foyt's Ford #7. Gary was going to do kits of both cars. But that, of course, was not to be. He was going to do the Foyt car first. In what was probably the last phone conversation I had with Gary he said he had sent me the first Foyt body. He also told me that the mold had been damaged by humidity and the master had broken. I received the body shortly thereafter. A couple of days ago I learned that Gary had poured another body and had painted and decaled it. I think he did a good job on it. He had also made some wheels/tires and some suspension pieces. Attached are photos I obtained of the body Gary did and the broken master. I think maybe the master broke because Gary had split the body to add more slant to the front of the car. As for as the Johnny Lightning body, I got it back a few weeks ago. Gary had not started on that kit. Photos attached. kip

A few more photos of what Gary was doing with the Foyt champ dirt car kit. As I described in another thread, a friend of Gary (I have been unable to get his name) has Gary’s masters and molds—including the Foyt dirt car. Apparently, he is considering producing either a kit or a body for sale. kip

Kip, I feel bad that all the hard work you've put into these projects has seemingly left you on the outside looking in. I do hope these projects come to fruition in a way that benefits you in some way
