I picked up some Entex 1/25 F1 cars and was wondering about availability of a/m decals for them. The cars are the Wolf WR-5, Tyrrell-Ford and the M@r1b0r0 BRM. The Wolf comes with decals for Jody Scheckter but the Tyrrell and BRM have generic decals, plus they are all badly yellowed. I notice Mike over at Indycals makes a 1/25 set of decals for the #20 Wolf WR-1 that may work in a pinch. He also has 1/20 decals for Stewarts Tyrrell-Ford, but not sure how well those would look on a 1/25 car.
My question is: does ANYONE make decals for these Entex kits? The BRM is gonna be a problem as it has the M@r1b0r0 logos.
Thanks

Check Pattosplace.com. He is in Austrailia but has older decals in 1/24.

Fred Cady made a sheet for the Tyrrells in 1/24-1/25 scale. I see them on e-Bay occasionally.

Indydog - I can do the Tyrrell in 1/25 for you. Doubt the WR1 decals would work well on a WR5 (I didn't know I offer that in 1/25, LOL... never actually sold one in that scale)

I still wanna get the WR-1 decals as it would get me the Wolf team emblems as well as the gold #20 numbers. I'll e-mail you of board.

Even though Entex labeled these kits (I have the Lotus 79, the Brabham BT46 and the Ferrari T3) as 1/25th, they are in fact 1/28th scale.

The Brabham and Ferrari are not bad. I plan to "cut and paste" the panels larger to be more 1/24. This is not an impossible job, but one must be a crazy nut like me to spend that amount of time on one of these kits. Slightly cut down 1/20 scale Tamiya car parts can help also. Using cut down 1/20 decals can work, but not always applicable.

Oh, I forgot...the BRM is really good. It is the easiest to work with and has a pretty good engine, too. The nose needs opening up some.

Patrick Patrick, If you're going to try re-scaling these kits, I suggest you take a look at this site: www.halfmoonhobbies.com/IowaRacing/home.html These paper cars can be used as forms for cutting 1/24 scale body work. I photo copy the page that has the body work, cut out the parts I want to duplicate and then use them to cut sheet plastic. the plastic bends just like paper but it can be sanded, glued and painted. Russ, Are you the chap that showed us a BT48 made from sheet plastic and transferred from a paper model. If so, how about an update on your project. If not, it was really a great job and I haven't gotten to that yet, but I will. I did make a Surtees TS16 from sheet plastic but can't get the front suspension right. I just have to quit getting interested in too many projects and focus...focus...focus! Patrick

You can see the initial pictures under the heading "Paper Models" in the F1 section of this site. Its currently sitting on the shelf in my modeling room waiting for me to get back to it. Same problem here, too many projects and not enough focus. RussD
