Hi all, I just joined and thought I'd share my two (so far) Indy cars. Both are Revell's Reynards. The Gurney Eagle is right out of the box, painted with Tamiya White and MCW Castrol Red & Castrol Green. The second is the Shell car painted with Tamiya Racing Blue (never did find out what shade of blue it was supposed to be) with Speedline decals. The Hot Wheels logos were too big to put in their correct spots, so I had some new ones printed using an ALPS printer. I found out after I stumbled across this site that I had used the wrong Renard kit for this car. Speedline didn't include anything for the driver figure, so The Stig is sitting in for Robby Gordon. ;D Both cars written up in the reviews section of Modeling Madness. Cheers! Ben

Both look great ;D I've been to your builds of these many times over the last 5+ years. In fact, a link your builds have been posted a time or two here already. I hope you keep building and posting on the site - welcome!!
The '98 kit is right for Robby's '99 car as he bought a year old car. IIRC he was supposed to run the Swift for Hiro Matsu(expletive deleted)a (sp?) because of the Panasonic/Hiro connection. He bought the Reynard (used from Patrick Racing I think) because the Swift wasn't swift at all - lol. After running the Reynard in about three races, he went back to the Swift before finishing the season with the Eagle. Now that Eagle would be a cool model!! ;D BTW, don't worry about running the wrong wheels on the car - painted black, no one can tell anyways. Plus, it is your model, you can build it as you please around here!
Again - welcome and enjoy the forums!

Thanks for the kind words, Jordan! I've already saved several of your posts for future reference. I'd forgotten about the AMT March & Lola, so I'm going to have to pick a couple of those up some day to go with my decal shoppping list.
Cheers!

Really like both builds. Makes me want to get out my Gurney Castrol kit and build it just like yours out of the box!

Great looking builds, Ben. I am trying to build a few Reynards now (check out the thread on my *Montoya fiasco*! ROFLMBO!!) I am learning, but at my age, I will never be able to devote the time to learning what the rest of the guys here know.
Post more pictures! ;D
As to the Miller Lite color, I don't know about the Indy stuff, but at that time in NASCAR, the cars were a beautiful dark pearl blue. I do know that sponsors often specified the same colors on all their *racing* cars. MM True Blue Pearl over a black base would be a very good possibility..... or HOK which also called it True Blue Pearl.

Thanks, guys! These Reynards have opened up a whole new world of modeling for me. Now that I've been browsing the kits and decals that are available, I can see these Indy cars are going to cost me a ton of money! I've already got a shopping list for our IPMS chapter contest here in Raleigh in September: Marches, Lolas, Gurney Eagle.... And the variety of Indycals decals! My bank account is in so much trouble!
