Great idea, as long as you have a jigsaw.

what are the dimensions / size of the clamp? I also do wood working. You can never have enough clamps!

After seeing this thread and that video, I made one using a cheap 4-inch trigger bar clamp from Harbor Freight ( www.harborfreight.com/4-in-ratcheting-bar-clampspreader-68974.html), and an old 2-speed jig saw I've had for 35+ years. BTW, may be a good idea to buy a couple of these clamps (easy at that price) because the first one I tried wouldn't stay clamped tight. Note that even with this small size clamp, I had to grind down the end of the clamp enough to fit into the saw's blade opening. I checked at several stores selling reasonable-priced jig saws, but couldn't find one with a bigger blade opening than my old one. It wasn't hard to do, so no big deal. Also note I found it necessary to glue some rubber non-slip grip material on the clamp jaws, to keep the bottle from slipping out of the clamp! It works well, but even using the high speed setting, I found that it helped a lot to give the old settled bottles of model paint I have a stir before shaking them. Cameron

This Robart hobby paint shaker has worked perfectly for me for 20+ years: When the strap broke, (& they will), I just started using rubber bands wrapped around the bottle. I even shake rattle cans with it, again using rubber bands. Sometimes slipping a couple of small pieces of cardboard on each side of the can helps, but with the right bands, I rarely need to do that. I noticed in the video he was shaking acrylic paints that way. It's always better to stir acrylics, (& Micro Mark, among others, offers a battery powered paint stirrer), as shaking them too vigorously tends to fill the paint full of bubbles.
