I've been very impressed with the Molotow chrome markers and I've wondered how well it would work through an airbrush. They do sell refills for the pens... the only thing is, it's $38 for 30ml. I broke down. I bought one. I LOVE IT! Truly indistinguishable from chrome plating. And while it's expensive the bottle has a built-in dropper and you can literally micromanage the use of it right down to the drop so as not to waste any of it. I do find that a heavy coat works best. The large rim was bare white plastic. No primer, no black under-coat. The BBS rim was one that I had painted with Alclad and painted the Molotow right over it. The photo really doesn't do it justice.

I, too, have really loved the pens but have been hesitant to try the refill because of the cost. Thanks for breaking ground for us, Michael! I'll have to order a refill myself, I have a couple of larger projects that I've been putting off.

You are welcome :-) And no thinning needed - shoots great straight from the bottle.

Do you think this could work on Greenlights suspension that needs to be chromed?

Do you think this could work on Greenlights suspension that needs to be chromed? Yes, works great. No need to prime or anything, just blast with with one coat and let it sit.

Thanks! That would have been my first try, it generally removes everything.

I just recently bought one 2mm pen at Hobby Lobby with the 40% coupon came to $7.19 not bad I am experimenting with the Motolow pen for window trim, so far I felt more comfortable pulling the wick and using a #00 paint brush to apply it. Looks great!!! Chris

Looks great!!! Chris I never used my Molotow pen as a pen - always dabbed some out and used a brush.
