Well, this is all kinds of awesome. I had asked Lance about this one some years back. Is this a one-off, or will it be available to others in some way?

Really nice work on the Shrike. Looking like it should. I would be interested in one, if available. I am pretty much a 60's era fan. Keep us posted, your effort is appreciated, even if we only get to look

I'm off to Indy and will post update pics when I return. I've been tweaking the body more and its in primer. Doesn't look like Frankenstein anymore. It appears there is enough interest to possible make some castings and I have already been in contact with GWS for decals. As soon as I have some initial castings I will send to Gary so he can fit/design the decals.

Is it me or is the AMT DOHC a little small and the MPC DOHC engines appear a trifle large? I thought of shaving down the MPC cammer's heads. The old Lotus 29 and 38s sure make a lot of 60's era F-1s and Indy cars, don't they? The old Cox Ferrari 158 looks pretty good sitting in that chassis. Unfortunately my life imploded and I donated all my kits to a museum as I have nowhere to work on them and living out of a pickup truck didn't do my magazines and photos any good.

Went to auto swap meet in San Diego yesterday, guy had some old Hot Rod magazines fro early 60's purchased the 64 editions of Mickey Thompsons Roller skate (excellent cover photo), the DOHC Indy Ford cover photo of Bobby Marshman's copper colored engine (another great cover) with great article on Bill Thomas Cheetah. And two issues with 64 Indy preview and race lots of excellent reference material. I've purchase the first two issues at least 5 times each, last issues got soaked in my pickup truck bed. Just can't go without them.

Don't believe everything on eBay or the Internet when it comes to scale/size. I just received a trio of EARLY Hard plastic slot/motorized bodies an Eldon 1/32 Offy roadster, Unknown very crude maybe 1/32 front engine looks kinda like a Maserati 250 F and an unknown Indy Lotus DOHC looks 1/25. I thought it was a Kogura but running the cast numbers 1159-11 turned out to be an ELDON Lotus 29 BUT the numbers say it's 1/32 which it is definitely NOT! Further research shows the ELDON 1/32 which has molded in exhausts and intakes. The ELDON (middle) is slightly shorter than the AMT Lotus 29 (upper) and IMC Lotus 38 (lower) in the attached photo but has a more bulbous nose, the "Bundle of Snakes" are different than any I've seen which I like, has extra exhaust, injectors and two extra windscreens. All in all, I think it has possibilities, might make the Halibrand Shrike of this thread. I just ordered the Indycals Firestones, have lots of DOHCs and Halibrand wheels and it willfit over the AMT 29, so a Shrike it will be! Thanx for listening, John PHOTOBUCKET finally cooperated!
