Since 2009 I have attempted to make a PC10 from scratch and have failed twice. But recently started on another one and hopefully see this one thru.... I know its hard for you all to see, since its not in primer, but I have the basic shape figured out. Next, I will clean it up and make a resin copy for a new clean subject to work with and continue to work with the shape and details. Its important to make resin copies throughout the building process, because after a while the master gets hard to work with, if it has too much body filler....and it starts to crumble ... its easier to make a resin copy and move on.. I just wanted to let it be known that Im working on one because I've gotten many people asking about one. This is my favourite Penske chassis. and of course, I plan to later do the PC11 This is the part that it looks hopeless. LOL But dont worry, it will be ok. its a process....I'm creating drama.

So far, So good. Hope it's not another Lotus 34. I didn't give up on the Lotus 34, I just took a break. These things have to happen when we're ready. Sometimes a delay that isn't even obvious to us turns out to be fortuitous in the end. Sometimes new info/references come to light, sometimes - as in the case with my long put off 93 Molson decals - new technology comest to light - that allows us to do it right, which would not have been the case if we rushed it.

When Calvin releases his kit, everyone is invited to my place for a beverage and a chance to destroy by sludge hammer, fire or legal explosive device, my most disappointing purchase ever on eBay. I reference this way beyond the call of duty thread of the proverbial sows ear. mb2501.proboards.com/thread/8851/over-head-pc10Paul Erlendson

I'm going to be completely transparent on this car as its EXTREMELY important to me that it's done right. and everyone knows you can give me suggestions and ask me questions on my work as you can't hurt my feelings because I know its only help. The next post I do on this car any suggestions and comments are welcome....as the car sits now, its too hard to see LOL (Im still "blocking" it out) After I get a little further with this I will make a resin copy and start with a fresh subject to work with. I'm exploring the idea of dabbling into getting photo-etch with this kit. I feel like its popular enough to do so. I have a little dream of making this my own version of an MFH kit. (High detailed curbside minus the MFH high price, BTW)

Nothing new. When I made this thread I really wasn't working on it at that particular moment. A lot of times I will post cars I'm working on to see how much interest there is. There is other projects I need to get wrapped up before moving onto this. If I do too many projects at once, I make mistakes and I totally don't want mistakes on this car.

Thank for the update. Yep, I get it. It's been over a year since I was in the shop modeling. Keep up the outstanding work you do, and i'll keep at eye open for this when this does come out.

Well, the last update was more than a year ago......and!....It still looks the same! Oooohhh *sad* But I want you guys to keep me focused on this, harass me, send me emails, send the National Guard to keep me working on this as I have so many projects going on that its easy to lose focus. And as I get older I've become more forgetful and I need to take notes more often than not on my projects to remember what task I need to accomplish next. So with that said, Im going to type my personal notes on this thread since this is the absolute best place to take notes, plus it makes it more interesting for your all! LOL

Put a good coat of grey primer on it or something. You have Lance's drawing, right?

Calvin, I have some experience trying to turn a near formless lump into a shape vaguely reminiscent of a PC 10. You are starting from a more advanced starting point. I look forward to swapping out my attempt for yours when you finish. Dan

Dan I know one positive with this scratch build is, last year I really thought I was doing a good job shaping it, today I looked at it with one more year of experience under my belt, and I said, wow what was I thinking??? I was seeing all sorts of things I need to fix. My eyes are catching everything I need to work on.

Calvin, I am 1/64 slot car buddies with Chuck Sprague, who was synonymous with Team Penske for many years. I will send him the link to this post. Maybe he'll chime in to help critique or give suggestions? Gary

Between this prospect and the amazing 'vote' list, looks like exciting times ahead.
Calvin, hope you get to a point where you are satisfied with your efforts. I thought this thing was gorgeous long before I ever really paid attention to Indycars.

But I think it will help to get primer on it. Plus I still haven't got it all of it sculpted down yet, its still at that ROUGH looking stage. LOL
