In 1963 Rob Walker took his Ferguson 4WD to Down Under and driven by Graham Hill won the Lakeside Tasman race... well, why not? It was raining like a bucket with holes. Marx toys made a 1/25 Ferguson if but a bit inaccurate. [img src=" " alt=" "] I decided to build a simple conversion with some details only in the cockpit area. I made two cuts to separate the top and bottom halves allowing me to add the interior details. Well, this is the only photo of the finished car...i accidentally erased the others! bummer.

Very nice Patrick! Great subject. Not sure why, but as a kid I was obsessed with this car.
And for the Indycar tie in, the last Novi's used Ferguson developed 4WD.
Great work as always.

My sincere thanks to my com-padre Trevor as he sent this little beastie to me!! And thanks to all of you. I'm starting to get lazy and sloppy in my old age, but I'm hanging in there. Patrick

Glad you found and posted the rest of the photos. As MJ said, this car is the father of the designs that took shape in the NOVI which appeared at Indy in 1964. The car was driven by Bobby Unser finishing 32nd after being involved in the tragic accident. I recall reading somewhere that Bobby said he survived by simply flooring the accelerator and smashing his way through using the power of the four-wheel drive. Thanks for the history. Jim

It was the last front engine car to win a Formula 1 race, at Oulton Park in 1961 with Stirling Moss driving.
In a 1997 interview for Motor Sport magazine, Sir Stirling Moss nominated the P99 as his favourite of all the F1 cars he drove. This was considered high praise from a man who drove the Mercedes W196, Maserati 250F, Vanwall, and Cooper T51.
Thank you Patrick for building this gem.

Great job, Patrick. The exhaust, interior, and suspension upgrades were all good time investments. Good looking blue paint, too.
