Well....
That looks like Bob, but he was never a Chief Mechanic...His father was. But Bob's father was a much bigger man. Could be a goof in a book.

Well.....
Got it straight from the scorce...
That is Bob, but like I said, his father who was 6'2" was Chief Mechanic on eh car. Bob was helping the writer by trying to identify people in pictures and a mistake was made.
Also...After years of working in the media center at the Speedway, Bill York wasn't asked back. A damn shame if you ask me. Bill had been there since 1958. Progress sucks sometimes!
