Danica's Performance (Altering) Fiasco

Just checked out the headlines on Comcast. Apparently Ms. Patrick said it wasn't a bad thing to use steroids "as long as you don't get caught." This apparently came from a just released Sports Ill. article on the little darling. You've got really phsically fit guys like Tony Kanaan out there driving with banged up ribs and Vitor heading out of the pits to keep on racing after a fire, only to break his back after that terrible wreck, and here's this dingbat telling everyone, "just don't get caught". What a role model for kids who haven't yet been dissed by her while trying to get autographs. My opinion of her has been low in recent years, but has now gone into the decidedly negative territory.
For a sport that has been having problems, been putting up with Robin Miller "Aliens Abduct Tony George" tabloid type stories and other issues, Patrick has really put her foot in it. NASC$R is taking a zero tolerance attitude on this matter and for better or worse maybe IRL should too.
I apologize if I have ventured into the realm of the "overly opinionated", but maybe it's about time for the "Danica Show" to find a full time spot on some backwater internet site and leave the racing to people who want to race and race clean.
Okay, now that I've lit this up, looking for comments, disparaging remarks, etc.

i agree! just what we need, another role model telling kids that it's ok as long as you don't get caught. PEDs have ruined just about every other sport so i guess it's inevitable that racing would follow suit!

p.s. as a nascar fan as well, i've always been very suspicous of carl edwards. he shows all the signs of steroids!

Carl Edwards? If anything I'd suspect Ryan Newman with that gorilla like neck of his. Not insinuating he does, but if someone told me a NASCAR driver did steroids, he'd be the first I suspect.

But back to Danica - yeah, really bad move. Just when it seemed like we have a new-improved Danica, she goes and takes her credibility down.

She was "new and improved" for the cameras early this season but still the same anti-social Danica in the garages at the Speedway. If IRL should be giving any female extra press and some sponsor help, it should be Sarah Fisher. Milka Duno at least has a children's educational gig going called "Milka's Way". As I say, Milka might not be the greatest driver there ever was, but she's a great ambasador for the IRL. Sarah's also a good egg.

Hey Duane, I thought the same thing about "Cousin Carl". The TV guys are always saying how "buff" he is and his little outbursts seem to be in line with the over aggresive behaviour associated with steroids. Maybe that "Clariton" Mayfield took is the same stuff Carl's doing commercials for!
