Only one person besides myself would have an idea on which car this will be and hopefully they won't rat me out just yet. ;D G

The tires look great. Keep the pix coming. The T-8800 is one of my favorite cars. RussD

Studio 27 belts with Detail Master buckles. I actually had it completed with the DM belt material but it looked crappy so I redid it. I love working with tiny photoetched parts so it was like double the fun. I'm not sure if this car actually had blue belts but I though they would look cool. Due to my amazing skill (or dumb luck. You decide), I finished the bodywork after only three rounds of my favorite game, "Prime, Fill, Sand." I should get some color laid down this weekend. Then the big mystery will be solved. Or will it? GNotice anything different yet?

Yes ... The engine cover is different. You started with a Ford cover and now it is the Chevy cover.

Good catch Russ - you're absolutely correct. This totally changes the possibilities for which car it could be. That steering wheel and seat look fantastic! Is the seat texture done with "flocking" material?? I also noticed that the NACA ducts on the front/outside of the sidepods have been covered up. That might be a result of getting rid of the injection molding pits in this area. The side pods look really clean and smooth. Great job! AND... nice tinting job on the wind screen. I'd like to know the secret on how to do this. RussD

You guys are just too damn good. Give yourselves a pat on the back. Due to an oversight on my part, I began this project with a Provimi Veal Lola but the car I want to replicate has a different engine cover. Instead of just switching engine covers I built a compete second car. Smart huh? The Cosworth-powered car has become my "T" car (for lack of a better term). Now I have to figure out what it will become. Of the three ideas I have for it, there are no decals available so I will need the help of a certain decal maker... ;D GCosworth Chevrolet Russ- Thank you. I did indeed use flocking on the seat and wheel. I dabbed a little water on the wheel since the photo to try to get rid of those stray "hairs" and I airbrushed Tamiya flat black on the inside surface of the windscreen.

Back in the day, I did lots of work on the Luyendyk Simon #9 and would LOVE to see that car re-created. That one is near and dear to me.

Of the 3 cars that your are considering as your T car ... The 89 Provimi car used the Ford engine cover. If you choose this car you would still need to build up the top of the cover to make it more rounded (per the 89 cover), not to mention the lack of decals.

WOW, I didn't know the AMT kits showed the differences in the engine covers.
I second the decal pics, all of those are great!

I have hit a small snag with the paint so I will be wet sanding and respraying the bodywork in the next few days. I'm kind of bummed because the finish was pretty good but it should look even better after I respray it (I hope). I reduced the mirror size a bit. G

Why didn't you fill the seam in the body top/bottom? It's one thing I hate about these kits.

The car looks great!! May I ask what the tires are please? I know the kit has the "Goodyear" raised on them, were they sanded off and then stenciled?
Thank you!

The tire lettering was sanded off with sanding sticks and then I used a Yoshida tire stencil (scale is a little off for the AMT tires so I "freehanded" the placement a bit). GRegarding your guess in the other post, check about six posts up and you'll see I gave you all a big hint.

HI Michael, If you read this, I would definitely buy each of those! LOL!! I have fortunately learned more about the late '80s cars so I feel more confident doing at least this era of *modern* car, plus the kits are still so readily available. I already probably have enough spares to do those three. Mongo You're stuck with what I've got for now. I have too many other things to do before I go back and do any more Lola decals.
