Castroneves 2018 Indy 500

Here is another recent addition to the collection: Helio's 2018 Indy 500 Ride. Originally started with a 2018 Autograph car with the gaudy centerline wicker that has been discussed elsewhere on this board. It ended up taking the majority of the Portland race but I was able to smooth it down to just about even with the rest of the body. A healthy coating of a white paint-and primer, then a top coat of Sunburst yellow Rustoleum made for a fairly smooth finish. Beyond that, the new Aerokit cars are actually surprisingly easy to disassemble and re-assemble. After building a couple of the original DW12's recently, it was a pleasant surprise to have a build go this smoothly. Thanks to Michael at Indycals for the great set of decals. They are a perfect fit for the model.

Super Sweet! You should top it off with a set of Michael's 2018 tire decals.

I heard that Greenlight decided not to make this car. Probably be a money maker on EBAY considering it's Helio and a Penske.

Thanks! I've heard the same thing about Greenlight. I was actually kind of surprised they didn't, especially since they opted to make Montoya's Indy One-Off car from last year. Greenlight has been a bit of a conundrum this year. While they have offered a greater variety of cars this year than previous years, it seems that the quantity of the cars they produced has diminished. Some of the more popular cars seemed to vanish quicker than others, while in previous years it seemed like the more popular cars were plentiful throughout the year and the less popular cars/drivers disappeared rather quickly.
