Thanks, first car that I've really airbrushed. Paint was by Gravity Colors, using Nissan Skyline Blue for the lighter blue and Porsche Dark Blue Metallic for the dark blue. Then sanded with 1000-grit sandpaper, then jumping to 3M Trizact 3000 and 5000 foam sandpaper, and finally polished out with 3M Hand Glaze. Some parts (like the undertray and FWEPs) were skipped, but by the end, was getting tired of this car.
Artwork was done by myself. Tires were sanded with the Trizact 3000 then decals applied with Microsol and hair-dryer. Using the hair-dryer immediately with Microsol during application allowed the ability to clearcoat without concern of wrinkling decals... then cleared with a matte clear.
As mentioned, the original rear cowl was damaged and unfortunately, put too many layers of color on the new cowl and doesn't match. Its less distinct in person than the photos however.
First time doing panel lines, which look much more noticeable in the photos than in person although I think they flow nicely with the existing lines from the individual parts on the GL mold.
I used Molotow Chrome on the exhaust pipes, which probably isn't entirely accurate but looks cool and on the end of the wheel hubs. Painted the wheel nuts with Tamiya Titanium Silver. On the exhaust pipes, I used a pin vice and drilled out the openings for added depth.
Cut the base off of the stock GL antennae and shortened the top part of it as well. Ditched the black inset of the airbox and just painted the inside of it flat black.
Used my photo-etch "fins" for the cockpit and airbox side, along with my PE fuel filler piece laid over the original buckeye.
3D parts used include: Speedway Bumpers Dashboard (awaiting Steering Wheel print) Mirror Bodies (glued to original mirror arms) Front Wheel Nuts F/R Brake Rotors/Calipers F/R Wheel Hubs
Shapeways has removed the "Print It Anyways" feature which allowed many of those items to be printed despite being thinner than their recommended thicknesses. As such, I have a print run with Sculpteo to see how it turns out for future offerings.

This diecast is beautiful. The fact that you painted it, designed 3d parts, 3d printed them, designed 2d parts, had them done in photo-etch (or did you do it yourself), and then put it all together!? That is a lot of work and deserves an equal amount of praise. Thank you for sharing it!
I have to say that I did not realize "Print It Anyways" had gone away. What a sad, sad day. I used that with almost every print and I got a bunch of nice parts that were technically out of spec. Going to have to look into what else I can do....

I drew it but did not do the photo-etching, it was done ages ago by the guy who makes the Tremonia sets . He did a great job on them. My print on Sculpteo got rejected, seems that despite Shapeways frustrations, their FUD/UFD is hard to beat on price. I attempted to check out FF3DM (now Facfox), however, their website leaves so much to be desired that its difficult to have much success in getting a ballpark price estimate.
