I recently purchased a 2018 Greenlight indycar autograph car with the intent of making Helio’s Indy ride from this year and have been trying to figure out the best way to tackle the oversized centerline wicker. Anyone have any tips, tricks, or ideas?

Anyone have any tips, tricks, or ideas? Doing the same. I sanded it some. Blocked the side, i lowered it some, but as has been said, its too big and bulky. I may try the plastic from a chick- fil-a salad bottom when i dont have a wicker. It might be the right thickness and easily customized.

Does it sand down easily or am I in for a headache with this one? And that’s a great idea about the salad tray! Thanks!

I don't think so, but i cant say. Its an idea i haven't tested yet. I just noticed its about what might be a good thickness. Its plastic so cutting and shaping shouldn't be too bad.

No, its cast into the body so its metal. I'm leaving it on the couple cars that I'm doing that don't require masking over it.

I was refering to making a center wicker. Sorry if i was not clear enough. With the surgeries, i will freely admit i'm not hitting on all 8 lately. More like 6. Maybe less some days. As always- thanks for your input / help.

I was trying to figure out the best way to take down the metal one that is cst into the metal, but wasn’t sure if it was something that could be shaved down some to try to smooth over that part of the car so the decals lay a little more cleanly

I took my dremel to it and ground that thing off. I have some thin pieces of sheet metal and styrene that I might try to place on there for when I try the Helio car as well.
